GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Laboratory Supervisor is a position that will manage employees in scaling, heavy metals, pesticides, cannabinoid, terpene, microbiology and residual solvent. Job Description
Curaleaf is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. The Laboratory Supervisor will supervise and optimize all the tasks in the Extraction and Purification Laboratory and will assist the Laboratory Manager and Manufacturing team by maintaining quality control measures in the extraction and purification process and thereby ensuring the delivery of high-quality product. Job Duties:
- Directly supervises the Extraction and Purification staff and accomplishes department results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- This position and all output metrics report directly to the Lab Manager. These reports will include all daily production metrics, establishing actual vs. expected production results with explanations of variances, staff absences and all associated production paperwork.

- Preparing for efficient production by reviewing manufacturing schedule; studying and clarifying specifications; calculating requirements; assembling and weighing plant materials and supplies for extraction.

About the Job:
The Laboratory Supervisor acts as an assistant to the Processing Manager. This position will work to organize and maintain laboratory operations and procedures, handle daily operations with a focus on efficiency and time management, maintain intra-office/lab communication protocols, streamline administrative procedures, inventory control, and task delegation.
- Assist Processing Manager in management of day-to-day laboratory operations
- Supervise and assign daily tasks of laboratory technicians, packaging supervisor and packaging laborers
- Assist with production scheduling to ensure turnaround times are maintained, coordinated and communicated among laboratory, sales and administrative personnel
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to all laboratory scheduling including, but not limited to: production, equipment maintenance, sanitation SOPs, annual personelle training and safety inspections
- Ensure the lab is well organized, workflows are streamlined, and hold regular meetings with laboratory staff to set work priorities
- Assist Processing Manager to identify and implement procedural and policy changes to improve lab operational efficiency
- Oversees Quality Assurance of all batch records and data collection for laboratory and packaging processes
- Maintains laboratory and packaging reports, records and files
- Ensure personnel are trained on SOPs
- Maintain laboratory consumables inventory and manages ordering
- Performs data and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and ahearance to corporate and state mandated regulations
- Coordinate workflow and work schedules from sampler dispatch through testing and reporting of data to customers
- Work with 3rd party laboratories to submit samples and interpret data results
- Required to maintain strict adherence to safety and Quality Assurance protocols
- Physical Demands: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level.

Main Purpose of Job
The Public Health Laboratory Scientist Supervisor functions as a full-performance laboratory scientist in the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission Office of Scientific Support (OSS) Reference Laboratory. This position performs, and supervises Public Health Laboratory Scientists performing, a variety of laboratory tests, assays, analytical procedure validations and quality assurance and quality control studies in such fields as analytical and environmental chemistry, and diagnostic and environmental microbiology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, Pharmacy or Zoology from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory performing analytical tests on environmental, biological or multi-matrix samples; or four years of experience working in a medical or public health laboratory performing diagnostic or public health testing on human specimens.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional graduate education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours in the above noted disciplines for each year of the required experience for up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Science Research Officer classifications or Medical Laboratory Specialists specialty codes in the Science related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.

The mission of Viridis North is to ensure health and safety within the cannabis industry by testing cannabis products for potency and purity; and to report results of this testing to consumers, manufacturers and regulatory agencies. As a growing company, we are looking for a full-time Laboratory Supervisor our facility located in the Bay City, Michigan area. Michigan is a medical-marijuana state. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, with occasional weekend work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Laboratory Director with maintaining sample throughput and laboratory workflow.
- Assist the Laboratory Director and Chief Science Officer with maintaining analytical and regulatory requirements for State of Michigan-required cannabis testing on various instrument platforms.
- Assist and direct scientists and technicians with daily workflow.
- Interact with Field Team management to maintain sample volume and customer expectations
- Delegation of daily operational tasks to staff as appropriate.
- Preparation and analysis of samples as needed.
- Production of reagents, mobile phases, calibrators, and controls as needed
- Operation and troubleshooting of instruments as needed
- Data review and reporting
- Tracking of sample progress through the workflow, ensuring result completion in a timely fashion
- Relaying operational issues and staff needs to laboratory director
- Customer contact and outreach as needed, including monitoring of results and accepting inquiries
- Interface with METRC as needed
- Assist Lab Director with maintaining QA/QC documentation for accreditation.

- Training of new staff on sample preparation, instrument operation and review of data.
- Interacting with laboratory management and advising on laboratory needs and issues.

As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Laboratory Supervisors at Enthalpy equip and maintain a well-trained and informed staff to meet the expectations of our clients by efficiently and profitably generating defensible data on time.
- Laboratory Supervisor will be an analyst who is responsible for most aspects of an operating team within the lab. Their role is one of a facilitator and doer. Personnel supervision, time management, and operational efficiency
- Hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions
- Conflict resolution, personnel skills development and team building
- Training on routine lab procedures
- Analyze samples as needed by using various published methods
- Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports.

- Responsible for ensuring adherence to all laboratory scheduling including, but not limited to: production, equipment maintenance, sanitation SOPs, annual personelle training and safety inspections
- Ensure the lab is well organized, workflows are streamlined, and hold regular meetings with laboratory staff to set work priorities
- Assist Processing Manager to identify and implement procedural and policy changes to improve lab operational efficiency

Job Description

The Laboratory Supervisor will supervise and optimize all the tasks in the Extraction and Purification Laboratory and will assist the Laboratory Manager and Manufacturing team by maintaining quality control measures in the extraction and purification process and thereby ensuring the delivery of high-quality product. This Supervisor carries out day-to-day tasks including prepping for Extraction runs, Extraction using supercritical fluids, maintain paperwork using Good Documentation, and adhering to GMP standards. Job Duties:
- Directly supervises the Extraction and Purification staff and accomplishes department results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- This position and all output metrics report directly to the Lab Manager. These reports will include all daily production metrics, establishing actual vs. expected production results with explanations of variances, staff absences and all associated production paperwork.

- Operating highly sophisticated purification equipment to convert crude oil into decarboxylated oil.
- Following procedures for extract purification including ethanol addition, winterization, centrifugation, distillation, filtration, rotary evaporation, and decarboxylation.
- Assisting with the development of further purification processes and in-process materials, including processes for new products.

· Ability to engineer growth medias for specific outcomes and techniques.
· Hands-on experience in initiating and maintaining cannabis cell cultures, and familiarity with different plant transformation technologies including but not limited to meristem harvesting, liquid cultures and bioreactors. Plant cryogenics is also preferred but not required.
· Ability to dictate, formulate, implement and follow protocols and SOPs and to effectively communicate results in both written and oral forms.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively work on diverse teams and to actively participate in collaborative efforts.
· Ability to work under limited to no supervision and is expected to manage entry level and intern lab technicians.
· Successful candidate will have strong data and record keeping skills.
· Ability to schedule plant cycles and deliverables.
· Know and remedy “sick” plants and the ability to “clean” genetics.

About the Job:
The Laboratory Supervisor acts as an assistant to the Processing Manager. This position will work to organize and maintain laboratory operations and procedures, handle daily operations with a focus on efficiency and time management, maintain intra-office/lab communication protocols, streamline administrative procedures, inventory control, and task delegation.
- Assist Processing Manager in management of day-to-day laboratory operations
- Supervise and assign daily tasks of laboratory technicians, packaging supervisor and packaging laborers
- Assist with production scheduling to ensure turnaround times are maintained, coordinated and communicated among laboratory, sales and administrative personnel
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to all laboratory scheduling including, but not limited to: production, equipment maintenance, sanitation SOPs, annual personelle training and safety inspections
- Ensure the lab is well organized, workflows are streamlined, and hold regular meetings with laboratory staff to set work priorities
- Assist Processing Manager to identify and implement procedural and policy changes to improve lab operational efficiency
- Oversees Quality Assurance of all batch records and data collection for laboratory and packaging processes
- Maintains laboratory and packaging reports, records and files
- Ensure personnel are trained on SOPs
- Maintain laboratory consumables inventory and manages ordering
- Performs data and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and ahearance to corporate and state mandated regulations
- Coordinate workflow and work schedules from sampler dispatch through testing and reporting of data to customers
- Work with 3rd party laboratories to submit samples and interpret data results
- Required to maintain strict adherence to safety and Quality Assurance protocols
- Physical Demands: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Moderate to loud exposure to noise level.
About You:
General
- Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain medical marijuana work credentials
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
- Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in licensed facilities
- 3+ yrs experience in laboratory operations
- 1+ yrs management experience preferred
Technological Skills:
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and email

Position Overview:
Based on facility and team size, the Post-Harvest Supervisor is responsible and accountable for all or a subset of trimming, extraction, production of MIP products and packaging. The Supervisor is accountable for all aspects of the tracking and quality production associated with goods produced in the facility. The Supervisor leads a post-harvest team and completes tasks themselves as needed to ensure the safe, accurate and timely production of products. Coordinates with other site leadership on production schedules, product inventory and availability. The Supervisor journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company’s software seed to sale tracking system.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
- Establishes and reinforces Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations
- Provide leadership to post-harvest staff, ensuring products are measured/weighed, trimmed, produced, packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately, and staff are performing in the most efficient manner possible
- Works as a post-harvest staff with team members as required to meet production expectations
- Assists in the hiring, onboarding, training and performance management of post-harvest staff
- Manages team schedules, daily production assignments and ensures accurate time keeping
- Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking
- Identifies areas to improve quality and maintain accuracy
- Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed
- Post-harvest extraction and lab specific responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to personnel in working in a highly regulated cGMP certified manufacturing environment
- Provide consistent oversight and training as needed of extraction/infusion procedures, ensuring standardized procedures and accuracy
- Ensure consistency in the production of compounding materials and provision for product generation
- Provide leadership to the team regarding precise formulation and compounding, production schedules and associated testing
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- BA/BS required; Chemistry preferred
- Manufacturing or business administration and three to five years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment
- Has a thorough understanding of cGMP regulations and the ability to execute and maintain compliance protocols
- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis
- Experience in various cannabis extraction methods preferred
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example
- Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment;
- Passionate about the importance of medical marijuana
- Experience meeting planned daily production requirements and understands how to maintain JIT cycling inventory production goals
