This Assistant Grower of Container Tree Irrigation position will include some management and all operational tasks involved with installing and maintaining irrigation systems in our container tree department. Including designing, improving, and leading many aspect of our irrigation processes. Trees that are grown are sold throughout the intermountain west and beyond for use in landscapes. There are approximately 100,000 container trees in production to irrigate.
This position would include mostly hands on responsibilities, some management of a small crew, and oversight for the following areas and others as developed and assigned. The ideal candidate should have educational or past work experience in agriculture and landscape irrigation systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, built, and implement proper irrigation systems
- Use of fertilizer injection methods throughout the growing season as instructed.
- Using soil probes to determine proper irrigation needs throughout the farm.
- Work closely with Crop Consultants and Lead Growers to determine proper irrigation needs.
- Monitor and control Irrigation parts and tools and inventory of them.
- Use and maintenance of equipment to install mainlines, pipes, and other valves in the irrigation system.
- Coordination with others on new trees being planted each season and irrigation needs.
- Working closely with Lead Growers to eliminate death loss of trees due to irrigation.
- Using the irrigation system for chemigation and resolve nutrient deficiencies in trees as directed by Leader Growers.
- Seasonal irrigation crew development.
- Bilingual is a needed. English & Spanish.
- Assist in recruiting and training of new hires each season for irrigation needs.
- Outlining irrigation crew for specific duties and keeping them on task each day.
- Coordinate daily and weekly with the Lead Growers to develop systems, plans and outlines for each season irrigation needs.
- Ordering irrigation supplies in advance and pre-building what can be done.
- Other duties and assisting in other projects as assigned
- Some use of computers will be needed for record keeping, running the irrigation controllers and communication needs.
- The actual agreed wage and benefits for this position ultimately depends upon experience.
This position reports to the General Production Manager.
This position is a farm position where hours worked are dependent upon the needs of the farm moving all aspects forward with outlined schedules and not jeopardizing the quality and health of the trees. Jackson Family Wines Grower Relations team is seeking an individual who will help monitor and ensure best vineyard practices for premium wine grape production, and who seeks to gain more experience with viticulture and wine grape harvest.
This position is a temporary assignment during the Vineyard Harvest Season, generally beginning mid-May and must be available to work through end of October or early November.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Collect, analyze and record viticulture data including vine counts, block and ranch locations bunch counts etc.

What you will do:
This position is full time 39 hours/week position. The S05 Greenhouse Grower will work under general direction provided by the Greenhouse Manager and Director of Horticulture. This role will assist the Greenhouse Manager with the daily operations of the Plant Production Facility, which supports horticulture, natural areas, and education programs at Cornell Botanic Gardens.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the care of seasonal plant material to include, but not limited to watering, fertilizing, plant propagation, transplanting, pinching, and pruning with attention to detail.
Maintain greenhouse work areas in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.
Monitor greenhouse equipment and environmental conditions and report problems promptly.
Monitor plant health on a regular basis to determine and address nutritional, disease, or insect problems.
Report plant health concerns to the IPM Team.
Ensure that all protocols and procedures to safety requirements are met and Best Management Practices for Cornell Greenhouses are adhered to.
Assist with the care of garden areas throughout Cornell Botanic Gardens with direction provided by horticultural staff and Greenhouse Manager.
Amending soil, pruning plants, clearing brush, weeding, mulching, string trimming, raking leaves and edging.
Check both plant identification and interpretive labels and notify plant records manager of any missing tags.
Complete status change cards recording plant movements into and out of the specified collections, as well as reason(s) for plant loss and failure.
Operate fleet vehicles and small-scale power equipment.
Other gardening related duties as needed, including supporting IPM program and Arboriculture.

Current position available is for a full time employee to help with the day to day operations of a newly licensed cultivation facility. No experience necessary. Applicant must either have or be able to get(no felonies) a key support badge or trimming badge to help with the plants. We are flexible with your hours so long as you have at least 35 hours a week available. We have both a greenhouse and an outdoor grow and will train you everything you need to know to be a skilled cultivator. We have an electronic checklist that must get filled out everyday and are looking for persons who have a good attention to detail in finding any potential issues and alerting the lead growers to the situation. We have lots of books on cannabis cultivation and hope that whoever we hire will spend the time to educate themselves both at work and outside of work hours. We would like to help you to continuously improve and advance your knowledge of all aspects of cultivation and are not looking for persons who think they already know everything. Must be willing to work at a minimum of two evening shifts a week which will end at around 8:30 pm so that pesticides can be applied in the dark.

This position would include mostly hands on responsibilities, some management, and oversight for the following areas and others as developed and assigned. The ideal candidate should have educational or past work experience in agriculture irrigation systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, built, and implement proper irrigation systems for the field grown trees
- Use of fertilizer injection methods throughout the growing season
- Using soil probes to determine proper irrigation needs throughout the farm.
- Work closely with Crop Consultants and Lead Growers to determine proper irrigation needs.
- Monitor and control Irrigation parts and tools and inventory of them.
- Use and maintenance of equipment to install mainlines, pipes, and other valves in the irrigation system.
- Coordination with others on new trees being planted each season and irrigation needs.
- Working closely with Lead Growers to eliminate death loss of trees due to irrigation.
- Using the irrigation system for chemigation and resolve nutrient deficiencies in trees.
- Seasonal irrigation crew development and management of employees with assistance of Office Staff.
- Bilingual is a needed. English & Spanish.
- Assist in recruiting and training of new hires each season for irrigation needs.
- Outlining irrigation crew for specific duties and keeping them on task each day.
- Coordinate daily and weekly with the Lead Growers to develop systems, plans and outlines for each season irrigation needs.
- Ordering irrigation supplies in advance and pre-building what can be done.
- Other duties and assisting in other projects as assigned
- Some use of computers may be needed for record keeping and communication needs.
- The actual agreed wage and benefits for this position ultimately depends upon experience. Teton Trees currently does not offer Health, Vision, or Dental Insurance. This position reports to the Lead Grower over Field Agronomy at the Farm.
Please note that this is a farm growing trees, shrubs, and perennials for landscapers, re-wholesalers, and retail nursery centers. Our farm is NOT a cannabis growing facility.
This position is a farm position where hours worked are dependent upon the needs of the farm moving all aspects forward with outlined schedules and not jeopardizing the quality and health of the trees. Position Overview
Floriculture Assistant Growers are responsible for growing top quality crops in accordance with the production parameters and product specifications as outlined by the Curio management team in addition to: making sound judgments when making decisions based on specific crop needs and acting with professional regard to the management and use of all production facilities and equipment. All Floriculture Assistant Growers are directly supervised by a Sectional Floriculture Manager and the Assistant Director of Floriculture.

Assisting in the cultivation of medical cannabis. This will be accomplished by performing various tasks in the cultivation process:

The grower position is responsible for day to day involvement in the growing of plants in a greenhouse environment, and implementation of reliable growing processes including pesticide application, irrigation, lighting, temperature, growing media, fertilization, nutrition, and monitoring the overall health of plants. Reports to and collaborates with the Lead Grower and Agrotechnical Manager in order to continue to increase our quality and efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Determine nutrient and watering/moisture requirements, and implement daily irrigation program
- Control pests by implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Communicate cultural or plant issues to management immediately
- Maintain records of crop activities and observations, including pesticide applications and growth records
- Help set priorities for Grower Helpers/Assistants
- Know specifications for each crop
- Follow growing schedules set by Manager/Head Grower
- Help troubleshoot greenhouse mechanical/environmental control systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Supervisory skills used in the assignment of tasks to Grower Helpers/Assistants
