RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The Director, Alumni Engagement & Cultivation leads alumni engagement initiatives built to foster deeper connections among alumni for the purpose of building a culture of philanthropy and increasing volunteer support to further the mission of Morehead State University.
Serves as the Executive Vice President of the MSU Alumni Association Board of Directors to ensure the board is engaged in the most effective ways to support the institution. This includes managing all board of directors-related activities, executive committee meetings, committee work, and quarterly board meetings. Maintain ongoing communication with members of the board to ensure meaningful involvement.
Works with colleges, academic departments, and athletics to aid and assist them in reaching their alumni engagement and fundraising goals and seek out where synergies exist with alumni programming.
Serves as the liaison between Alumni and Development and Enrollment to coordinate impactful ways to utilize alumni as volunteer recruiters and connect potential students with alumni
Actively manages a portfolio of 75-100 major donor prospects through face-to-face discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship meetings; ensure that each prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for donor pipeline development, using Raisers Edge, for all meaningful interactions.
REQUIREMENTS
: Bachelor’s Degree and related experience. Experience in higher education and relationship building. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Master’s Degree. Computer proficiency in word processing and desktop publishing.

About The Role:
As the Supervisor, Assistant Grower, you are a key, frontline leader, responsible for managing a group of individuals and ensuring successful growth of our crop.
- Supervise daily activities for a team of Group Leads and Crop Care Specialists to ensure greenhouse productivity, quality and food and health safety standards are met and exceeded while promoting a positive work atmosphere and building team spirit.
- Mentor and monitor Group Leads, providing direct coaching and training as needed while delegating workflow and daily activities.
- Maintain a frequent and open dialogue with the Head Grower, Labor Manager, and HR regarding coaching, disciplining and corrective action plans.
- Assist the Head Grower in executing the crop management plan including but not limited to ensuring daily completion of Pre-Op and Post-Op activities, maintaining up-to-date records and reports; interpreting measured data from crop and climate registrations; performing water and diseases tests as needed; assisting in fertilization, irrigation and climate control needs; working with the IPM team to manage pest and disease control, facilitating trials of new products; and supervising and executing annual activities including the planting of new crops, cleanout and crop-turn.
- Partner with Food and Environmental safety leaders to ensure hygiene, cleanliness, pest, disease, and equipment protocols are adhered to by all team members.
What We Are Looking For:
- 2-year college degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading individuals working on production lines.
- MS Office suite proficiency and a general understanding or ability to be trained on the Priva labor system.
- Training in Food Safety and Sanitation
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal & communication skills, and attention to details
- Ability to work with/manage 30+ team members
- Available to work weekend rotational duties, holidays and respond to after hour needs.

About Role:
As the Assistant Grower, you will be assisting with the management of growing operations for AppHarvest’s 60 acre hydroponic greenhouse facility.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists with growing produce commodities.

About the Role:
As a Grower, you will assist with the management of growing operations for AppHarvest’s 60-acre hydroponic controlled-environment agriculture facility.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in all aspects of the production process, including integrated pest management, climate management, crop maintenance, and labor planning and scheduling.
- Assist in managing greenhouse climate control systems.
- Assist in crop inspections, removing substandard or diseased plants to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of growing techniques and technologies.
- Monitor the working environment to ensure compliance with company and statutory hygiene, health and safety standards, as well as policies and procedures.
- Report food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel.
- Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies are followed.
- Climate management including daily and weekly plans/actions.
- Determine and monitor climate control system settings using Priva software for heating, venting, watering, and lighting.
- Oversee crop nutrition, including weekly and longer-term nutrition strategies for all stages of the crop cycle.
- Direct pest and disease management, including recommending and implementing weekly and long-term control strategies, incorporating integrated pest management (IPM).
- Manage water resources, including daily and weekly plans/actions, as well as operational troubleshooting of water systems and equipment.
- Monitor labor management and performance in conjunction with Growers and Supervisors.
- Lead and participate in projects to improve quality, safety, performance, and yield.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and hygiene key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in horticulture or related field or between two and five years of controlled-environment agriculture industry work experience.
- Experience with fertilizers, chemicals, and water, including calculation of amounts, proportions, percentages, and volume for application.
- Knowledge of major plant groups and their culture and growth traits.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), health and safety, food safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and the PrimusGFS program.
- Identification of plant diseases and the existence of insects.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to train team members and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Priva software preferred.

- Conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures (50 degrees Fahrenheit to 99 degrees Fahrenheit) and background noise approaching 70 decibels.
