The Director, IT Security leads security services ensuring that all organization security requirements are met. In this newly created position, the Senior Security Director is responsible for the direct management of the development, installation, execution and maintenance of all security systems and protocols for the Company. What you will do
We are seeking a energetic and experienced Deputy Director of Security to join our growing and dynamic team! The Deputy Director of Security will oversee and manage physical security at the production facilities and dispensaries. The ideal candidate will provide campus-wide leadership and direction in all areas of security, loss control, security best practices and security programs including strategic planning. The Deputy Director of Security will assist the Security Director with Capital Expenditure and Operations Expenditure reports as it relates to the security department budget and annual planning cycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly shift schedules for Security Officers at the manufacturing/cultivation facility to ensure 24/7 coverage.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of full-time and part-time Security Officers.
- Performing security patrols by company or client vehicle and/or on foot;
- Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, trespassing, fire and accidents;
- The observation and reporting of any unlawful activity;
- Monitors security conditions at the production facility and manage personnel scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for security operations
- Manage security incident response planning and investigation of breaches.
- The protection of individuals or property, including but not limited to proprietary information, from harm or misappropriation;
- The control of access to premises being protected;
- Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by Vireo Health on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety, and fire;
- Watch for safety and fire hazards and other security related situations;
- Provide any needed assistance to customers, employees, visitors, or the public;
- Perform requests (after being provided approved training and documentation by the Chief Security Officer) by the client, within the scope of our duties or within reason;
- Serve as training officer to new security staff;

THE OPPORTUNITY

Job Description
The Director of Corporate Security will be responsible for the development and implementation of corporate-wide security SOPs and programs. The Director of Corporate Security manages every detail of our company's security plan, including managing all security technology, overseeing all transportation security, managing access to facilities, and training company personnel in risk management.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develops and implements security strategy, protocol and SOPs for the company, and monitors for adherence.
- Directs the activities of personnel to ensure protection of all organizational physical assets, properties, and resources.
- Advises and trains site personnel regarding security protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal agencies, and monitors adherence to protocols and procedures.
- Manages relationships with both internal /external security partners/vendors.
- Conducts routine and follow-up security inspections of corporate facilities.
- Responds to emergency situations at sites, prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
- Responds to site team members with all security concerns from the field.
- Recruits, orients, and trains personnel on appropriate security rules and procedures.
- Conducts security audits and apprises senior leadership of results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, or in a related field.
- 10+ years’ experience of applicable security leadership experience, with at least five years in Corporate or Retail Security.
- Unwavering integrity with exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on security protocols.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Must be extremely detail oriented.
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

Role Overview
Grassroots Cannabis is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Director of Security with proven leadership skills to join our growing team in our Chicago headquarters. The Director of Security work under the direct supervision of our Chief Administrative Officer supporting, developing and managing the implementation of company-wide security programs. Responsibilities include ensuring all company security operations comply with local and state standards while also directing a small team towards success across all markets.
Role Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and implementation of a corporate, retail and cultivation-wide security program that standardizes Facility Security, Emergency Management, Delivery, Access control, VMS installation/management and cash handling
- Effectively manages current and future members of security team by setting clear expectations and accountability, delivering feedback and monitoring overall performance
- Manages relationships with both internal/external security, governmental partners/vendors and 3rd party vendors/contractors
- Conducts routine audits and follow-up inspections of corporate, retail and cultivation facilities nationally to ensure compliance with local and state rules & regulations
- Develops strategic approaches to achieve compliance with any above-mentioned security/compliance issues
- Directs the activities of security personnel as well as corporate security teams to ensure protection of physical assets, properties and resources
- Ensure employees at all sites receive proper annual trainings and continued education
- Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Role Requirements
- Proven leadership skills and 5+ years of experience managing a team required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in a comprehensive security and compliance programs in a professional setting required
- Experience with utilizing and implementing multiple VMS
- Ability to problem-solve and implement standards and changes with little oversight
- Must be extremely detail-oriented
- Ability to multi-task on several projects at once while always remaining compliant with all laws and regulations
- Strong IT skills; proven ability to utilize IT systems required but experience with programming or cyber security not required
- Professional communication skills; must be able to communicate with C-Suite and Government Officials in an articulate manner

The Director of IT & Security Operations, under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for the management and maintenance of network services, technical support, server administration, local area networks, IT security, controls, and audit. This position is responsible for managing the triage problems to internal and external systems and assuring their resolution. The Director of IT & Security Operations is also responsible for the connectivity & integrity of infrastructure across multiple locations via the configuration of complex cloud-based security architecture. This management includes the configuration of domains, active directory, security policies, and the management of the Commissions infrastructure architecture supporting clear telecommunications while focusing on security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be a “hands-on” leader and manage and support daily IT operations needs for the Commission and the user community;
- Provide guidance to help desk and support staff;
- Communicate with the senior staff for the operational activities and strategic goals;
- Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of networks, firewalls, threat detection, security systems and on-premise IT services across all company offices;
- Define and execute strategy for employee computing needs, hardware selection, MDM, security configuration, SSO, VPN, employee training, etc.;
- Forecast hardware and desktop software requirements for the Commission and recommend software, hardware and other system products;
- Manage tangible technical assets and identify replacement when necessary;
- Assure internal and external customer satisfaction with adherence to service levels as determined by the Commission;
- Manage and maintain Network services, Server administration and LAN;
- Manage third-party vendor relationships and service contracts;
- Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements;
- Triage issues to third party vendors for the Commission’s critical systems, such as the Licensing system, Seed to Sale tracking, and related field software and assure their resolution;
- Maintain a focus on technology confidentiality, integrity, and availability at all times;
- Install and configure hardware, such as servers, routers, switches, and network related equipment;
- Assist in the implementation of the Commission’s asset tracking software and ticket management system;
- Ensures that workstations, telecommunications, operating systems and software applications are operational;
- Manage and maintain the Commission’s technical mobility, including mobile device management, tablets, field staff technology, and assuring availability 24/7;
- Perform periodic assessments related to the vulnerability of the Commission’s network; and
- Assist the CTO in driving a multi-year roadmap for a “Zero-Trust” network while assuring all assets are secured.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct and support the Commission’s goals for a diverse and culturally aware workforce;
- Work collaboratively with other staff to provide excellent customer service;
- Promote a culture of can-do attitudes, responsiveness, and service quality;
- Provide automation strategies to reduce effort on managing devices;
- Executes procedures and controls to ensure that the Commission’s data is backed-up on a regular basis and stored at a secure location in accord with best practice IT standards and tests the back-up plan on a regular basis;
- Be primary contact for technical issues;
- Be a contact for IT security audits;
- Test and monitor IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans;
- Be the on-site technical leader for infrastructure projects and support end users and travel to various sites as required or needed;
- Performs related duties as assigned; and
- Required to lift 35 pounds and push 65 pounds of computer equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct daily supervision of personnel may be required.

- At 7-10+ years’ experience in the field of Information Technology with at least three in a supervisory capacity;
- At least 2 years’ experience developing and executing maintenance on systems for medium sized or large company or public agency;
- ITIL Certification; and
- CISSP is desired but not required
