This Assistant Grower over Field Tree Irrigation position will include some management and all operational tasks involved with installing and maintaining irrigation systems in our 200 acres of field trees. Including designing, improving, and leading many aspect of our irrigation processes. Trees that are grown are sold throughout the intermountain west and beyond for use in landscapes. There are approximately 100,000 field trees in production. Digging approximately 30,000 - 40,000 per year with replanting 40,000 trees each season.
This position would include mostly hands on responsibilities, some management, and oversight for the following areas and others as developed and assigned. The ideal candidate should have educational or past work experience in agriculture irrigation systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, built, and implement proper irrigation systems for the field grown trees
- Use of fertilizer injection methods throughout the growing season
- Using soil probes to determine proper irrigation needs throughout the farm.
- Work closely with Crop Consultants and Lead Growers to determine proper irrigation needs.
- Monitor and control Irrigation parts and tools and inventory of them.
- Use and maintenance of equipment to install mainlines, pipes, and other valves in the irrigation system.
- Coordination with others on new trees being planted each season and irrigation needs.
- Working closely with Lead Growers to eliminate death loss of trees due to irrigation.

Summary:
The Planting and Field Assistant follows all direction given by the Cultivation Manager or Field Cultivation Lead to prepare fields for planting, plant clones in the field and continued care through and including harvest of mature plants according to Los Suenos cultivation schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assists Cultivation Lead with preparing fields for planting.
· Plants clones to designated field.
· Tends to field plants throughout the season including de-fanning, pest control, staking, weeding, etc.
· Assists with harvest of mature plants.
· Assists in other areas of the farm as necessary throughout the season.
· Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions.
· Report and assist in solving problems immediately.
· Ability to work well under pressure, such as when planting and harvesting.
· Exhibits the ability to work well with others.
· Displays the ability to handle multiple changes in activities throughout the week.
· Knowledge of Field work, Landscape, Farming or other strenuous outdoor work.
· Knowledge of best practice working in a wide range of temperatures, sun, insects and ability to protect yourself and work safely.
· Current Colorado MED Occupational Badge and responsible for renewal.
· Must have reliable transportation and consistent, on time attendance.
Education and Experience
· Highschool diploma or GED.
· Previous outdoor grow experience preferred.
· Experience working with Cannabis preferred.
· Knowledge of Colorado MED regulations.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to individually lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
· Reaching below waste and above shoulders, pulling leaves with gloved hands, using hand tools, bending, kneeling, twisting and stooping consistently throughout the workday.
· Working in a field with a wide temperature and humidity range is required.
· Working in muddy or wet conditions at times.
· Must have clear, verbal communication skills.
· Ability to handle stress while performing multiple tasks.
· Ability to work long hours and weekends may be required.
· Willingness and ability to wear gloves, mask, head protection, ear protection, sun protection, pest determent protection on a consistent basis.

Outdoor working environments in a fast pace and highly regulated industry.

Salary: $13.00 to $14.00 /hour
