Merchandisers are responsible for everything that happens to a product from the moment it is delivered to the store to the moment a shopper picks it up off the shelf.
Objective:
1. Establish good relationships with Herbl Sales reps
2. Cultivate positive relationships with budtenders to help them work for us, Coastal Sun! - i.e. - Samples, swag, demos, in-person visits, trainings, etc.
Role Description:
- Establish relationships with active accounts to be able to survey for inventory checks, merchandising opportunities, develop long term price programs, upselling and placing products
- Collaborate with HERBL Account Manager to open new doors & grow distribution
- Handle staff trainings and support accounts with events and PADs when asked - eventually delegating PADs/DEMOs to Brand Ambassadors
- Provide ongoing samples to the HERBL sales team and maintain sample/demo SKU’s on the menu
- Develop sales strategy plan at Key accounts and collaborate with HERBL sales to implement strategic plans to support Tier 1 & Tier 2 accounts
- Stay informed on competitive pricing, tactics, and spends
- Assist Herbl sales reps with monthly established targets
o Participate in ride-alongs with Herbl sales reps
o Be aware of and leverage any brand opportunities presented by Herbl sales reps
- Monitor, address & maintain Herbl brand feedback entries which should be completed daily around concerns, support needed, marketing opportunities, etc.(basically, the Herbl reps maintain a database of brand feedback and our Merchandisers are tasked with addressing this)
o Work to assist Herbl reps in maintaining sales KPI's (specifically)
o Stay on top of the brand feedback and make sure they are addressed and executed
o Help reps to establish & grow target accounts
- Work with Director of Sales, Area Sales Managers, & Account Managers to develop further strategy and approach for region and individual shops
- Monthly & Bi-weekly meetings with Coastal Sun Sales Director
- Work with Account Managers to Survey in-store displays, and positioning of Coastal Sun products for optimization
o Subsequently work with Marketing for in-store displays, promos, and events
- Collaborate with Account Managers as a support role & always keeping the buyer experience top of mind.
- All around - keep Coastal Sun as a shining star in every store and in the distribution’s book of business by supporting and accelerating the sales of our brand

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Field Assistant is a full-time position (40 hours/week) focused on the cultivation & management of cannabis field crops. This job aims to ensure the success and well-being of our field production throughout the growing season. In this position, one will be working alongside our core team as well as independently to complete the task at hand. This position will also involve monitoring the efficiency & work quality of day labor crews in order to utilize these resources effectively. Job Description
The job as our blueberry cultivator is a full-time position. We are searching for someone to manage our current production area as well a new project on another ranch. This position would be focused on monitoring the plants and production zones, delegating tasks to be completed by our labor crew, facilitating harvests, and communicating with buyers to market the fruit. We have a solid team of workers that are available to complete basic plant maintenance tasks (i.e. weeding, hoop house maintenance, pruning, trellising). You would be working closely with them as well as our plant health team to ensure the well being of our cane bushes.
Site
At our primary ranch, we currently have a total of four and a half acres of blueberries in hydroponic production under hoop houses. This will increase up to a total of seven acres by the end of summer after we complete infrastructure build outs and move plants around. Our picking season begins roughly mid-February and extends all the way through mid-July. We are also taking on another 5-acre property with hydroponic blueberries in Aromas, CA. The fruiting season at this location begins a bit earlier around November and extends into February.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of plant health and maintenance
- Service irrigation weekly
- Leaf sampling for sap analysis monthly
- Formulate and adjust foliar & fertigation recipes in communication with our plant health team
- IPM scouting
- Manage harvest crews & quality control of fruit
- Coordinate with buyers & local CSA's to market fruit
- Delegate labor for daily as well as annual tasks (i.e. weeding, pruning, trellising, etc.)
- Planning and staying one step ahead of farm crew in carrying out daily tasks
- Cultivate weeds in hoop houses
- Record-keeping, suggesting, and implementing system improvements
- Manage our expansion to our new ranch
Experience & Education
- Must be able to speak Spanish proficiently
- Past experience working at an organic production farm
- Open-mined towards innovative regenerative practices
- Agriculture/Horticulture degree preferred but not necessary
- Ability to drive a tractor also useful
- Positive attitude and ability to motivate others
- Confidence and communication skills to lead large labor crews
- Physically fit (i.e. can lift at least 50 pounds) and able to work in variable climate conditions

QUALIFICATIONS
This person should hold at least a BA in a Scientific discipline from a major university or be extremely open minded towards innovative regenerative agricultural practices with a strong work history in organic crop production. This person should show a pattern of leading teams in an increasingly responsible fashion and have a proven track record in analytical trouble shooting. Must be able to handle basic farm physical work tasks such as lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, etc.

Nutrient and Irrigation Management Team Lead - Roles & Responsibilities
You will manage and ensure the team accomplishes the following in a detailed and organized manner:
The team will be required to manage both cannabis and blueberries in reference to nutrition and irrigation. Roles and Responsibilities of the Nutrition and Irrigation team are not limited to the subsequent lists.
Roles and Responsibilities, Fertility:
- Manage fertilizer stock tanks according to the SOP – Clean and fill tanks, clean fertilizer tank filters and feed lines. Update SOP as needed.
- Manage fertilizer inventory, order products from vendors and pickup inventory when sourced locally.
- Lab test fertilizer stock tanks routinely to ensure concentrations are consistent and accurate. Use this data to inform recipes and accurately dial in ppm delivery.
- Vet incoming fertilizer products. Lab test for heavy metals and validate label information. Keep inputs separate and out of use until vetting is complete.
- Lab test irrigation and leachate to verify ppm delivery, measure leachate volume, pH and EC. This should be done in both Cannabis and Blueberry crops. Aurora team may be asked to facilitate these tasks in Aurora.
- Clean leachate stations every time irrigation is run to ensure accurate EC and pH readings.
- Conduct water, soil and leaf tissue sampling. Manage data associated with testing.
- Manage photographic record associated with testing.
- Bring attention to issues relating to plant health. Will have authority to mobilize small crews to implement cultural management where relevant.
- Mix foliar feeding recipes for cannabis and blueberry crops. At times, the team will be required to execute foliar applications.
- Execute biological applications, as well as cleaning and maintaining relevant equipment, including field spray rig.
- Coagulate plant health data (Pest identification, observations, lab tests, leachate EC and pH) and construct fertility programs around this data.
- Monitor Senmatic AMI Penta fertigation machine for flow, EC and pH.
- Maintain Penta, including calibrating pH and EC probes, repairing pumps and injectors. Work with vendors towards better usage of the Penta’s capabilities.
- Conduct consistent fertility meetings to discuss plant health, the data, adjustment strategies, etc.
- Weekly/biweekly must keep the entire farm team up to date on goings-on via email.
- Maintain communication with laboratories, vendors and consultants to troubleshoot problems and to continuously improve upon farm systems.
- Report relevant fertilizer and water usage data to regulatory authorities.
- Maintain a log of fertigation and irrigation.
- Maintain a log of fertilizer usage.
Roles and Responsibilities, Irrigation:
- Walk cannabis irrigation lines every day that irrigation cycles run. Repair or replace irrigation fittings, fix leaks, monitor irrigation for consistent delivery of water/fertigation.
- Walk blueberry irrigation lines weekly.
- Plan and execute consistent housekeeping of all irrigation lines – weekly acid line flushes with PAA, etc.
- Maintain and clean Penta, Sulfur Burner, DO machine, Recirculation system.
- Clean all irrigation filters at least once a week.
- Maintain an irrigation parts inventory, including PVC fittings, t-tape fittings and poly fittings.
- Repair pvc breaks in greenhouses, execute plumbing projects as needed.
- Manage the production of sulfurous acid water, keeping sulfur pellets stocked.
- Manage the production of RO water for greenhouse, field and sometimes Blueberry foliar applications.
- Participate in field irrigation, repair of irrigation lines, etc.
- Manage recirculation system functionality, cleaning and correct dosing at the Penta.
- Troubleshoot irrigation problems – pressure test lines, sample irrigation to assess consistent delivery, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities, Pest and Disease Pressure:
- Consistent scouting of both Cannabis and Blueberry crops, wherever these crops may be growing – Nursery, Aurora, Field and Blueberry hoops
- Maintain a record of scouting activities and pest or disease pressure as well as nutrient deficiencies or surplus.
- Feed information back to relevant parties and participate in the development of strategies for the control of pests and disease.
- Will have authority to mobilize small crews to implement cultural management of pest and disease concerns where relevant.
- Keep a record of pesticide applications.
