POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Dispensary Manager - TAS is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Parallel Center in accordance in accordance with the Department of Taxation and the Cannabis Compliance Board in the state of Nevada and standards set by Parallel.
Provides support for all store employees, call center employees, delivery personnel and order ahead personnel, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information. Responsible for inventory management/tracking and store delivery coordination within both the POS and Metrc, cash management policies, and maintaining wellness center compliance and cleanliness.
The Assistant Manager will provide support and oversight to all retail employees, call center employees, and delivery personnel, including training and development, adherence to standard operating procedures, and staffing. This position will ensure the best possible patient experience consistent with brand standards.
CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee Support and Management:
- Responsible for hiring, managing, training and reviewing Parallel Center staff including on duty supervisors, guides, and call center personnel, manage staff schedules, product inventory, and patient relations.
- Serves as a role-model and resource for store staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations.

- Collaborate with the Delivery Manager to coordinate inventory delivery for assigned Parallel Center.
- Responsible for Wellness Center inventory management and tracking.
- Customer Service:
- Provides superior customer service for vendors and patients.
- Prioritize time and energies in store to join the staff on the selling floor; coaching and developing the team; and leading by example.

- Step in to fulfill responsibilities of Store Manager as needed.
- Operations
- Maintain accurate records of customer feedback, sales, deliveries, and returns in accordance with the State of Nevada regulations and standards set by Parallel.
- Cash Management, Security and SOPs: Manage cash management protocols with proper opening/closing protocols.
- Follow all SOPs for operations of the store with continuous improvement input into policies and procedures.
- Office Administration: Store communication and planning. Responsible to read, interpret and communicate messages from Corporate Store Operations. Works to ensure all staff members are informed and takes proper action, updates bulletin boards and other communication avenues in store.
- Reviews and approves timekeeping records for the staff, ensuring accuracy and submits for payment. Maintains record keeping standards.
- Responsible for shipping and receiving. Preparing, setting timelines and delegating tasks amongst the team to ensure merchandise is stocked is completed in a timely manner.
- Acts to reduce loss. Responsible for the management of processing damages/returns and the organization. Alerts the Store Manager to any concerns immediately.
- Maintain all visual merchandising directives.
- Organization of all areas back of house, creating an orderly and tidy environment for the staff where supplies are easy to locate when needed.
- Organize and upkeep management files, delivery manifests, etc.
- Execute thorough store audits on time and as directed.
- Ensure the store is compliant with all environmental operations requirements and document per company standards
- Manage third party vendors as required.
- Manage banking.
- Provide feedback to the Store Manager to inform improvements that are needed.
- Ensure all patient files are current and required documentation is on file and follows all guidelines issued by the State of Nevada and HIPPA, Maintain knowledge of all applicable state and local laws.
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in related field or comparable work experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a position with retail managerial responsibilities in a pharmacy or health and wellness environment preferred.
- Thorough understanding of state and local Medical Marijuana laws and how they apply to the operations of Parallel.
- Effective time-management and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
- Proficiency in windows-based software and point of sale applications.
- Maintain an active Dispensary Agent card, in compliance with state guidelines

Preferred Education and Experience
- One (1) or more years supervisory experience within a cannabis retailer in the state in which the position is based.
- Working knowledge of cannabis industry compliance and operational best practices.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in cannabis retail or a similarly regulated industry.

The Opportunity
The Manager, Consumer and Shopper Insights will shape future growth by driving consumer-first thinking to create meaningful and different retail brands and product offerings. Through data and insight, they will deeply understand the categories the where hemp products will play, who the consumer is and the path-to-purchase including the retail environment and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, innovation and R&D to identify broad market opportunities and unmet consumer needs through trends, research, analytics and data
- Work with the Sales team to deeply understand both current and future shoppers and their purchase decision journey on the way to driving traffic, purchase and long-term loyalty
- Translate marketing and consumer research and insights into actionable customer specific communication, category and marketing plans
- Responsible for identifying insights and analytics needs, lead project scoping to ensure a clear and actionable brief and identifying the right approach and research partner
- Work closely with research partners to seamlessly execute research projects then build impactful, visually engaging and easy-to-understand reports and presentations that drive action
- Thoughtfully communicate and share insights across all levels of the organization
- Build and execute the annual cross-category insights plan as well as the retail and sales team’s plans, ensuring that insights are helping to achieve key priority areas and guiding decision making
- Work collaboratively across functional groups, helping to create a consumer-first mentality across all teams

Experience
- Minimum 5 years in market research or consumer/shopper insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required
- Experience in a range of different types of research, both qualitative, quantitative and analytics is an asset. Specific focus areas include market, brand and advertising trackers, segmentation and U&A studies, Consumer Decision Journey or Path to Purchase research and ethnographic qualitative and shop-along research
- Proven skills in shopper insights including guiding and influencing customer interactions and category management is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of the grocery/ packaged goods categories, especially wellness and natural health space
- Experience and exposure working in highly agile, ambiguous environments with rapid innovation is desirable
- Strong analytical skills including experience using customer databases and Nielsen Answers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to function effectively in a team environment
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Nielsen Answers, IRI, and Feature Vision
- Proven ability to work under tight timelines with minimal supervision
Other Details
This is a full-time position based out of a major metro city in a CBD authorized state. Travel to be expected, estimated at 30%.
