Summary

CORE JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive and strategic distribution plan for a vertically integrated, seed-to-shelf CPG—including but not limited to warehousing, transportation/logistics, systems integration, materials purchasing, inventory control, space/equipment utilization, etc.
- Engage key business partners across the organization to ensure alignment and assist in defining the overall distribution network strategy, including but not limited to Sales, Data Analytics, Finance, and Operations to ensure the company reaches its goals for profit, growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Build and optimize a cost-effective logistics network throughout multiple facilities, from manufacturing sites to retail/wholesale network throughout the region.
- Management of entire distribution fleet, including the optimization of lanes, routes, and drivers, to ensure effective transportation.
- Oversight of all inventory levels throughout distribution sites, including materials utilization and purchasing, waste management, etc.
- Develop team KPIs to measure performance against areas including but not limited to OTIF, DIOH, Absolute Inventory Value, Inventory turns, cost per route, etc.
- Consistently meet regulatory compliance and safety measures within state and company guidelines, including security, training, OSHA, EHS, etc.
- Build and lead a team across materials, supply chain, inventory, drivers, etc. through a culture of accountability and organization, while promoting employee engagement and professional development across all locations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, Master's and/or Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing certification/training a plus
- 10+ years commercial distribution, supply chain, and/or logistics experience, including a minimum of 5 years experience managing and developing a team
- Experience within a fast-paced and highly regulated industry is preferred
- Multi-site distribution center leadership and operations experience is preferred

Summary

- Manage and audit manifests within 24 hours – confirm manifests and coordinate with a co-licensing partner
- Ensure hard copies are maintained for future audits
- Track daily orders and communicate with inventory (shipping and staging) so that orders are fulfilled in an orderly fashion
- Coordinate schedules for drivers, sales associates, and inventory personnel weekly
- Confirm and audit delivery routes for all deliveries for the next day
- Work with Distribution & Logistics Managers to adjust and increase efficiency of routes as needed
- Work with Sales Operations Managers to add a route as needed
- Coordinate cash pick-ups as requested by the sales team
- Track deliveries for Track and Trace compliance
- Communicate with dispensaries to resolve manifest issues
- Maintain regular maintenance on fleet vehicles.
- Auditing collections log to confirm payments are accurate
Travel
- This position may require occasional travel to our manufacturing site in Central California and distribution hub in SoCal
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in supply chain management, logistics or business administration or a related field preferred
- At least 5 years of related experience/training in supply chain or logistics function/department, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience managing distribution & logistics operations across multiple geographies, ideally including major metro areas.
- Strong attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance assurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) and QuickBooks. Experience with Slack preferred.
- Proficient with METRC.
- Ability to pass Livescan background check.
- State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older

Position Summary:
The Director of Distribution is accountable for the efficient operation of distribution and warehouse operations to manage expenses, minimize loss, and maximize revenue. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, procedures and logistics. Oversees all of the functions and activities of the entire distribution network to ensure quality, accuracy, safety, cost and volume standards are being met. Coaches and directs the development of the distribution center's leadership and management team to ensure employees are being challenged, motivated, and rewarded, and that processes being used maximize efficiency and accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a distribution strategy that will allow the company to keep its competitive edge through distribution excellence
- Development and implementation of company's distribution, procurement, and inventory strategy.
- Drive sales strategy while supporting marketing analysis, strategic planning, and trends in the cannabis industry.
- Build a strong collaborative relationship with all internal and external parties through effective communication, conflict resolution, and compliance management.
- Accountable for creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor product import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with other department to integrate logistics with business systems and/or processes such as customer sales, order management, accounting, and delivery.
- Guiding, directing and coaching leadership in the overall functionality and effectiveness of the distribution center, motivation and recognition systems for employees, and improvement processes in the center.
- Oversee and direct the Sales Department.
- Establishing departmental productivity, accuracy, and safety goals, tracking progress toward goals, and communicating progress to employees to achieve breakthrough performance
- Interviewing and selecting of all leadership and key personnel.
- Developing departmental and management performance goals with leadership teams and completing performance appraisals, conducting performance evaluations, determining appropriate compensatory rewards, and handling discharges.
- Establish common processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure a smooth running distribution center by establishing warehouse guidelines, systems, processes, and procedures, as well as coaching leadership on more effective ways to streamline work flow and improve productivity.
- Maintain KPI's, reports, process documentation, and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ successful years of logistics, distribution & supply chain management experience
- Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices, cost analysis, trend analysis and statistical data.
- Strong communication, negotiation, collaboration, and leadership background.
- New distribution center start up experience (preferred).
- Experience with multiple, nationwide distribution operations preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of cannabis helpful.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal company regulations and for working in the cannabis industry.
EDUCATION
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, operations management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
- APICS or equivalent supply chain certification preferred

The Director of Distribution is responsible for ensuring a well-coordinated and highly efficient supply chain for our cannabis distribution facility. The successful candidate will be analytical, passionate and highly skilled in supply chain management.
This position reports directly to the EVP of Operations and works together with the VP of Sales, Controller, and the Director of Cultivation to ensure that the distribution team has all product, supplies and equipment needed to fully function at an optimal level. The Director of Distribution is also responsible for the management of vendors, suppliers and contractors that support the operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supply Chain Management:
- ERP Management - Collaborate with cross-functional groups to understand current process, potential improvements, and recommend improvements for ERP management
- Vendor Relationships - Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
- Logistics - Apply strong logistics management practices of monitoring, analyzing, identifying and resolving challenges through preparing and completing action plans
- Warehousing/Shipping - Identify and secure optimal warehousing facilities and shipping routes
- Ordering Portal – Manage internal ordering portal to insure all locations are supplied regularly without interruption
- Purchasing and Procurement – Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order to order equipment, supplies and goods. Determine the lowest cost options and coordinate logistics to stores.
Manufacturing:
- Adhere to all state and local compliance regulations Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC)
- Maintain all track and trace records according to Metrc
- Manage and oversee the production team and operations in Downtown Los Angeles
- Maintain all existing accounts and ensure the fulfillment of orders to internal stores and wholesale customers
- Establish and refine SOP’s and QC/QA programs as needed
- Ensure all compliance and Good Manufacturing Practice processes are maintained and fulfilled
- Oversee seamless transition and move of operating facility when/if needed
- Monitor expenses and productivity of employees
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5 years of manufacturing and/or operations experience; preferably in a food or cannabis industry
- 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
- Experience with ERP software
- Logistics solutions experience (warehousing and shipping)
