SunGrown is looking for a detail-oriented Director to lead our Logistics and Distribution Operations.
Responsibilities of the Director will include implementing and maintaining processes related to the distribution and logistics of all relationships entered into with SunGrown. The role will be responsible for the successful execution for people management, continuous improvement, daily facility management, and logistics of all distribution accounts for the company.
Create and Drive Business Value
- Lead the logistics and distribution operations
- Enable sustainable growth and achieve financial objectives through increased efficiencies and process improvements.
- Work closely with other team members to manage product supply and our supply chain to ensure timely delivery of products
- Maintain compliance for all best practices and regulatory standards
Logistics and Distribution
- Proven track record and in depth understanding of logistics management
- Ensure team goals align with strategic direction & execute them on time
- Ensure proper allocation of labor between different logistics needs
- Actively recruit and retain top talent
- Train employees on best practices, inventory management, compliance, innovation, continuous improvement

Summary
Our Distribution and Logistics Director oversees the movement of our products from the production facilities to the warehouse to our customers in all California markets. They are well versed in inventory control, material handling, customer service, transportation planning, as well as managing our distribution workforce. They prepare worker schedules and ensure warehousing and distribution workers follow safety rules while ensuring sales orders are fulfilled in a timely and compliant manner.
Duties & Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Ensure that compliance regulations are adhered to while moving product through the state tracking system
- Verify inventory daily both morning and evening across all hubs
- Ensure that all pertinent deliveries are staged and manifested
- Verify all manifests are accurate
- Manage transfer of product from production facilities to warehouse and delivery from warehouse to customer
- Track inventory throughout established routes and transfers
- Monitor inventory levels at the warehouse and coordinate with operations as needed
- Track and update un-medicated inventory and coordinate with operations to maintain that inventory as needed
- Monitor and control physical environment at warehouse to keep inventory in safe ranges
- Work with Sales Operations and Production to confirm projections and anticipated needed inventory at each hub
Distribution Logistics
- Create manifests for delivery and transfers
- Manage and audit manifests within 24 hours – confirm manifests and coordinate with a co-licensing partner
- Ensure hard copies are maintained for future audits
- Track daily orders and communicate with inventory (shipping and staging) so that orders are fulfilled in an orderly fashion
- Coordinate schedules for drivers, sales associates, and inventory personnel weekly
- Confirm and audit delivery routes for all deliveries for the next day
- Work with Distribution & Logistics Managers to adjust and increase efficiency of routes as needed
- Work with Sales Operations Managers to add a route as needed
- Coordinate cash pick-ups as requested by the sales team
- Track deliveries for Track and Trace compliance
- Communicate with dispensaries to resolve manifest issues
- Maintain regular maintenance on fleet vehicles.
- Auditing collections log to confirm payments are accurate
Travel
- This position may require occasional travel to our manufacturing site in Central California and distribution hub in SoCal
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in supply chain management, logistics or business administration or a related field preferred
- At least 5 years of related experience/training in supply chain or logistics function/department, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience managing distribution & logistics operations across multiple geographies, ideally including major metro areas.
- Strong attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance assurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) and QuickBooks. Experience with Slack preferred.
- Proficient with METRC.
- Ability to pass Livescan background check.
- State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
