Position Overview
The Repository Technician will be responsible for completing daily laboratory tasks that are essential to the hemp tissue culture repository operations as assigned by the Laboratory Manager. These tasks include: media preparation, plant culture induction, subcultures, sample management, performing genetic analysis, culture health assessment, general cleaning, accurate experiment notation, and in some cases, training of laboratory interns. The Repository Technician will work closely with the Repository Manager and Repository Team to ensure all goals are met, all protocols and equipment in the laboratory are functioning properly, and the laboratory remains clean. The laboratory technician will also be encouraged to actively participate and conduct independent and guided research as it relates to the company's R&D goals.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Ensure that media is prepared precisely and appropriately stored. Follow internal QC and logging procedures to ensure accuracy of processes, formulations, labels, etc.
- Perform essential in vitro culturing tasks, such as explant induction, subculturing of stock materials, and any other tasks assigned by the Repository Manager.
- Follow the plant production schedule established by the Repository Manager to ensure client needs are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict cleanliness, sterility, and organization of tissue culture laboratory areas.
- Follow lab entry/exit protocols and PPE standards.
- Keep efficient and accurate laboratory notes and records for reporting, analysis of performance, and compliance purposes.
- Strict adherence and maintenance of records in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Adhere to sterile technique protocols when working on laminar flow benches.
- Display highly effective organization and ability to maintain laboratory physical/digital records and documents.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, storage, and sterilization of surgical tools, culture vessels, and other reusable laboratory equipment.
Communication
- Work effectively with the Repository Manager to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of the facility.
- Efficient communication with other laboratory staff through standard communication and laboratory best practices.
- Illustrate a clear understanding of the chain of command to address and escalate issues within the lab to the Repository Manager.
Compliance
- Operate in compliance of laboratory operations with all local, state and federal regulations including those determined by MDAR and OSHA.

Work Environment
The successful candidate will be expected to perform duties in a well-defined, cleanroom laboratory environment with some guidance from the Repository Manager. The Technician should be comfortable adhering to strict PPE protocols as they move throughout the facility to ensure sufficient cleanliness of sterile areas. The Repository Technician will be encouraged to define, explore, and investigate improvements to existing laboratory workflows and products as time allows from main duties. The Repository Technician will also be encouraged to assist the Repository Manager in developing new ideas and insights surrounding scientific advancement and workflow improvement, as well as conduct their own experiments, as time allows.

Job Overview :
A Tissue Culture Lab Tech is responsible for the operations of the Tissue Culture/Genetic Assay Lab. QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline and at least six months of applicable laboratory experience. Previous micropropagation experience prefered.
Working knowledge of aseptic technique
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Remaining in a seated or standing position for extended periods
Performing repetitive tasks with hands, fingers, and wrists
Extended periods of microscope work
Exercising a consistently high degree of accuracy when using fine motor skills
Wearing gloves, respirator and other required protective equipment for extended periods
Working in aseptic conditions under a laminar flow hood for extended periods
Able to lift 25-50 pounds at a time
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to colleagues and management

Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Bayview District in San Francisco, CA
Position: Part/Full Time
Endo Industries is seeking a multi-faceted plant tissue culture lab technician who is curious and motivated to advance a varietal development program for cannabis and hemp. Our company is comprised of long-time cannabis entrepreneurs with a wealth of knowledge and resources in the cannabis space. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a rapidly growing cannabis and hemp company and passionate team.
As a laboratory technician you will assist in maintaining our plant tissue culture lab. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing high-level micropropagation inductions, transfers and general maintenance.Responsibilities
- Propagate plants by strictly following established tissue culture plant production protocols
- Execute assigned research experiments to optimize processes
Working under aseptic/sterile conditions
- Prepare media and feeding regime for samples
- Sample maintenance
- Inventory management
- Quality Control duties
- Keep a clean working environment and monitoring lab supplies
- Performs other duties as assigned and assists other departments as required
Qualifications
- Experience in Horticulture, Microbiology, Plant Biology, Cell Biology or related field with 1-3 yrs. experience ideal
- Experience with sterile/aseptic techniques
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands with manual dexterity
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheet, Slack
- Highly independent, proactive and self-motivated
- Ability to understand tasks and goals and have situational awareness
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter, dependable/reliable
- Fast learner, problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and record keeping skills
- Strong ability to understand and follow implicit instructions
- Ability to work 40 hours/week on a regular schedule (8 hours/day)
- Ability to work overtime as required (including weekends and holidays)
Earnings: $18-22/hour, depending on experience. Ability for a raise/promotion is available after our probationary period. Health benefits to follow after probationary period.
