Overview:
Under general supervision from the CGO, the Director of Purchasing and Procurement is responsible for the planning of the weekly ordering, restocking, and logistics of Pioneers retail division. Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

General Summary:

General Summary:
The Director of Product is responsible for the data and analytics to drive pricing, forecasting and purchasing decisions and to support inventory management at each of our three medical and recreational marijuana retail dispensaries located in Framingham, Pittsfield, and Hudson in Massachusetts and our two medical Alternative Treatment Centers (ATC) in Dover and Lebanon in New Hampshire. Temescal Wellness is a start-up business operating in an ever-changing regulatory landscape, and as such, the following job description may not include all necessary tasks. All employees will be expected to pitch in, as needed, to ensure the successful start-up and operation of each facility.
Requirements shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

Sales Analytics: research and analyze competitor pricing, wholesale prices and internal COGS to maximize profitability through margin and revenue analysis. Leverage internal and external data sources including point-of-sale, market data and internal financial data to create analysis, presentations and recommendations in support of delivering profitable sales growth for Temescal Wellness. Create and distribute regular reports to inform decision-making on price changes, sales forecasts and product range. -
Purchasing / Production Planning & Inventory Management (PPIM): serve as the Retail Team's primary point of contact with Temescal Wellness production and manufacturing colleagues to determine what product range and volume can be satisfied internally. Establish, maintain and expand relationships among wholesale suppliers to supplement our menus and ensure our offering is competitive. Successfully advocate and negotiate for retail & inventory needs. Collaborate with production and finance teams to support implementation of ERP system. -

About the Role
This individual will be responsible for developing and manage strategy to optimize performance across the purchasing department. This role will lead the standardization and transformation of the purchasing department on a global scale by establishing a clear vendor path for growth, cost savings, spend analysis, contract reviews, pricing, supplier management and purchasing.
What you will do (Essential Functions)
- Project and time management: Ability to manage large, complex projects and break them down and execute into manageable pieces, develop functional processes, and deliver them in a successful and timely manners
- Improve the suppliers’ on-time delivery performance to enable inventory reductions throughout the supply chain and X-Factory dates
- Develop negotiation strategies and participate in negotiations with vendors on price, delivery, terms, etc.

- Develop and execute a global market leading purchasing strategy including purchasing, production lead-times, OTIF for Pos status and supplier payment terms
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop process/project plans (typical functions include Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, Regional DC Teams and Sales in order to improve process flows and product availability at the warehouse)
- Strategically develop and implement commodity strategies covering all commodities - direct and indirect, and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization
- Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of purchasing activities to include, but not limited to, supplier performance, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial (AP) performance, and material shortage elimination
- Analyze and negotiate annual multi-million-dollar contracts
- Manage and mentor the purchasing team of 6-10 employees and monitor daily department workload of incoming requisitions, special quote requests, and to ensure the purchasing staff is meeting the company’s needs in a timely manner
- Develop the purchasing expertise of the team
- Problem solve and answer frequent questions on price, price disputes, returns, delivery, quality, quantity, freight, packaging, definitions, and sourcing, accounting, sales, and upper management. This may involve research, data extraction, and frequent interaction with vendors and internal personnel
- Review commodity pricing and news on a daily basis, especially scrap steel, foundry additives, stainless steel surcharges, and rubber
- Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job
- In conjunction with the CFO and other senior managers, determine the degree to which we use cash to enhance our profitability when making large purchases
- Review department staffing requirements and determine work assignments and functions within the department
- Maintain the capital general ledger list for the company
Who you are (qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization (English and Chinese/Mandarin preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in global supply chain sourcing, purchasing and Quality Control with Asian vendors/suppliers
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
- Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and stakeholders, especially within Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance
