Duties Summary
Exempt, non-civil service, permanent, fulltime appointment. This position is responsible for managing, directing, overseeing, and supporting all the operational functions and activities of the department’s Medical Cannabis Dispensary Licensing Section under the Office of Medical Cannabis Control and Regulation including operations, personnel, budgetary matters, and any contracts to ensure that program objectives are achieved pursuant to State statute, rules and regulations, and consistent with legislative, public, and federal expectations.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Excess experience in administration, professional, technical, or other responsible experience, which required a high degree of analytical skill, may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Master’s degree preferred. Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years in business or public administration, which require a high degree of analytical skill.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of management, administrative and/or analytical experience in overseeing or conducting onsite inspection surveys which demonstrates that the applicant possesses knowledge of public health programs, plans, and policies and procedures; or,
Three (3) years of law enforcement supervisory or investigative detective work, or supply and inventory management that demonstrates experience in understanding and ensuring compliance with physical plant security requirements, management, inventory, and manufacturing controls over Schedule I drugs and drug materials and products, and documentation of handling of evidence and ensuring appropriate chain of custody of products or of Schedule I drugs and drug materials and products as it is transported or distributed between locations, employees, or between employees and caregivers or medical cannabis patients.
Specialized experience may substitute for General experience on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE: Valid Hawaii Driver’s license preferred. Must satisfactorily pass a background check to include criminal history records check.

The Shift Supervisor is a hybrid between our model Patient Care Specialist and outstanding source of support for the managerial team. Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class customer service to the patients and customers expected of all of our Patient Care Specialists
- Follow and uphold established policies for sales and customer service to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of every product and strain in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge, and strive to train and share that knowledge with other members of the team

POSITION SUMMARY

Maggie’s Farm Full Time Shift Supervisor work with our patients in a retail setting to sell flower, edibles, concentrates, and other marijuana related items. This position will provide exceptional customer service and utilize knowledge of marijuana strains and products to help customers/patients purchase cannabis products. In addition, Shift Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the dispensary, counting down drawers, assisting in managing inventory and guiding and training staff.
The Shift Supervisor position reports to the Store Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for greeting customers and/or patients
- Assessing the needs of the customer
- Educating and guiding customer on the benefits and differences of products
- Deliver company’s retail promise to every person and patient while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Directly interact with customers and advise them compliantly on the products that are for sale
- Responsible for managing money and inventory and elevating the customer experience
- Upholds compliance and regulations per industry and business requirements
- Open and close the dispensary and responsibly hold keys to the building
- Accurately count down cash drawers, complete reporting paperwork, and communicate daily sales information to corporate finance
- Assist in managing store inventory and communicate supply needs to store management
- Guide staff and train staff in customer interaction, sales technique, and company policy
- Ability to remain calm in many different circumstances and adapt to change
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills):
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Must be at least 21 years of age

- Six (6) months to two (2) years of experience in retail sales or customer service
- Ability to remain compliant in a highly regulated role
- 1 year Retail Management/Supervisor experience
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication with customers, coworkers, and management
- Exceptional Cash Handling experience
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, point-of-sale, and cash-handling; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other programs
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure they are completed on time to company and industry requirements
- Ability to take and provide feedback, coaching, accountability conversations to/from many levels

Champlain Valley Dispensary (CVD) is seeking a* full-time Dispensary Supervisor for its satellite location in Middlebury. *This position is responsible for ensuring that Sales Associates are maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provides a positive, friendly and safe environment for the patient at every stage of the appointment and maintains solid product knowledge about both CVD inventory and relevant trends in the industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Provide direct service to customers, including financial transactions, proper entry into database, monitoring of product sold, and labeling purchased product.
- Dispense medicine accurately and efficiently through the combined use of innate math skills and of the point of Sale (POS) system and cash register.
- Open and close the dispensary: responsible for the alarm system, reconciling the register and tracking inventory for each shift.
- Receive transfers of inventory into both the Point Of Sale system and the physical count; work with inventory manager to resolve any discrepancies. Confirm that the physical packages match the digital transfer sheet and that packages are stored according to FIFO.
- Oversee Sales Associates in compliance and professionalism.
- Ensure that staff checks the database for pending appointments, checking for current IDs and product limits.
- Check waitlist and product hold list to ensure the Dispensary has product in stock requested for patient appointments through the next day.
- Help to answer phone calls and return voicemails.
- Print out daily strain menu.
- Help maintain current stock of member handbooks, intake forms, and promotional and educational items.
- Maintain cleanliness of dispensary through regular dusting, glass cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and other company sanitation protocols.
- Attend weekly department meetings.
- Ensure the Dispensary staff follow the Vermont State Medical Marijuana Program guidelines.
Required qualifications:

- Two or more years of retail supervisory experience.
