About the Job:
This role is critical to the company’s continued growth and drive toward being the best operational company in the cannabis industry. The Facility Operations Director is fully responsible for the day-to-day operations of one of the company’s grow & processing (GP) facilities. At the Director level, the individual will lead a facility with significant headcount (~100+), capital equipment and revenue production expectations. The Facility Director is expected to be a strategic leader with the ability to create business plans and models intended to maximize facility output and minimize overhead costs and costs of goods sold. This role will be charged with full P&L responsibility for the facility and, in certain locations, may also be responsible for managing a co-located retail “tenant” operation as well.
- Manage facility staff including scheduling, basic time off requests etc.
- Hire line managers and supervisors according to the facility’s capabilities and needs and in coordination with operations leadership
- Oversee all aspects of staffing at the assigned GP coordinating for new headcount with the Regional VP of Operations

Education/Experience

About You:
General
- Regulations require that incumbent be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, especially in the areas of business management or a similar discipline in the manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods industries.

Position Overview:
The Manager, Facility Operations is responsible for the facility and managing the day-to-day operations in accordance with local and state laws, regulations, and standards set by the Company. The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations. The Facility Operations Manager has responsibility for all staff in the facility and acts as a liaison externally between the Cultivation and Dispensing Facilities and the local community, including law enforcement.
- Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to Columbia Care’s established mission objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all State and local laws, rules and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program, and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, NFPA and others.
- Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, Health and Safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed.
- Manage security of the facility in partnership with corporate VP, Security. This includes implementing and maintaining security systems for tracking, record keeping, record retention and surveillance related to all product at every stage of, storage, delivery, transporting, and distribution.
- General facility repairs and maintenance and overseeing minor Capex projects.
- Work with Cultivation and Manufacturing teams to establish protocols to ensure the facility can maintain efficient production throughput and establish and implement procedures focused on increasing yields and finished goods production while reducing costs and increasing quality within the approved SOP framework.
- Establish and meet daily/weekly production requirements and KPI’s.
- Work with department leads/supervisors in maintaining GMP audit-readiness.
- Ensure Just-In-Time inventory management is maintained as it pertains to the production of finished goods, raw materials and other inventory items as required.
- Work with Quality Management to ensure vendor relationships are maintained and able to support cultivation, manufacturing and production needs.
- Assist state and local government officials and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.
- Oversee and manage the tracking of all inventory in seed to sale software system and liaise with the accounting department to maintain, with the administrative, flower, and post-harvest staffs, control of all inventory (plants, in-process products, and final products) in the facility.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Facility Management, Engineering, Agriculture or Business Administration.
- Minimum 8 years’ facility management experience with progressively more responsibility; preferably managing commercial agriculture or GMP manufacturing facilities.
- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and staff resource planning.
- Ideal candidate would also have Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen experience in managing a highly regulated and production-based facility.
- High level observation skills/ attention to detail.

The Manager, Facility Operations is responsible for the facility and managing the day-to-day operations in accordance with local and state laws, regulations, and standards set by the Company. The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for People, Process, Product and Infrastructure which includes the management and accountability for compliance, P&L, budgets, cash flow and production targets, human resources, repairs and maintenance, health and safety and security. This includes leading all cultivation, manufacturing and production agents, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates, industry news, and product information as well as lead procurement, waste disposal and inventory management activities. The position must maintain strong partnerships with corporate leaders of Infrastructure, Horticulture, Manufacturing and Compliance. The Cultivation and Manufacturing Facility is a busy operation and therefore the ability to organize, prioritize and delegate tasks is a key requirement. The Facility Operations Manager will need to be able to lead teams, plan, organize and anticipate requirements well in advance to ensure smooth business operations.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
This position manages functional operating units such as Horticulture and Cultivation, Inventory Control and Manufacturing Production which may include Extraction, Pharmaceutical Production and Commercial Kitchen operations. The Facility Operations Manager has responsibility for all staff in the facility and acts as a liaison externally between the Cultivation and Dispensing Facilities and the local community, including law enforcement.
- Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to Columbia Care’s established mission objectives.Ensure compliance with all State and local laws, rules and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program, and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPAA, NFPA and others.
- Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, Health and Safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed.
- Manage security of the facility in partnership with corporate VP, Security. This includes implementing and maintaining security systems for tracking, record keeping, record retention and surveillance related to all product at every stage of, storage, delivery, transporting, and distribution.
- General facility repairs and maintenance and overseeing minor Capex projects.
- Work with Cultivation and Manufacturing teams to establish protocols to ensure the facility can maintain efficient production throughput and establish and implementprocedures focused on increasing yields and finished goods production while reducing costs and increasing quality within the approved SOP framework.
- Establish and meet daily/weekly production requirements and KPI’s.
- Work with department leads/supervisors in maintaining GMP audit-readiness.
- Ensure Just-In-Time inventory management is maintained as it pertains to the production of finished goods, raw materials and other inventory items as required.
- Work with Quality Management to ensure vendor relationships are maintained and able to support cultivation, manufacturing and production needs.
- Assist state and local government officials and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.
- Oversee and manage the tracking of all inventory in seed to sale software system and liaise with the accounting department to maintain, with the administrative, flower, and post-harvest staffs, control of all inventory (plants, in-process products, and final products) in the facility.
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Facility Management, Engineering, Agriculture or Business Administration.
- Minimum 8 years’ facility management experience with progressively more responsibility; preferably managing commercial agriculture or GMP manufacturing facilities.
- Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and staff resource planning.
- Ideal candidate would also have Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen experience in managing a highly regulated and production-based facility.
- High level observation skills/ attention to detail.
- Excellent and confident communicator.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
- Self-starter and self-motivator.
- Persistent in driving high standards and professionalism.
- Willing to work on a “hands on” basis and contribute positively in a growing company environment.

About the Job:
This role will support the Facility Operations Manager in the supervision and management of day-to-day grow, processing, production facility operations and staff for medical-grade cannabis. As directed, responsible for supporting, monitoring, and analyzing current systems and procedures of operations and productions and logistics to ensure effectiveness. Position may act as a liaison between other company departments.
- Assist the Facility Operations Manager with production processes, internal tracking and compliance, order process and inventory management, and enforcing product quality control standards
- Compile and submit reports as requested
- Train and supervise employees as directed
- With HR support, help recruit high-performance staff and proactively manage organizational structure
- Ensure accuracy of seed-to-sale tracking
- Ensure all operational SOP’s are followed as outlined in Holistic Industries Policies and Procedures
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of applicable state and federal cannabis laws
- Assist with setting and reviewing budgets and managing costs, in coordination with the Facility Operations Manager
- Support facility-level employee relations, including onboarding, scheduling, and discipline

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: VERY LABOR INTENSIVE.
