Conducts in-depth, on-site, inspections, and investigations related to SCFs of their assigned facilities. Conduct field investigations, investigative conferences, and interviews with involved parties and potential witnesses. Main Purpose of Job
The Microbiologist functions as a full-performance laboratory scientist in the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission Office of Scientific Support (OSS) Reference Laboratory. This position will perform a variety of laboratory tests, assays, analytical procedure validations and quality assurance and quality control studies on cannabis and hemp samples collected by the Commission. BENEFITS

Cannabis Laboratory Analytical Scientist Needed

We are a full-service cannabis testing and research lab offering state-mandated testing services to California’s cannabis distributors, cultivators, and manufacturers to ensure safety and accurate labeling of products for medical and recreational use.
The Analytical Chemist, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS focus is a key position responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of the laboratory samples requiring LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS pesticide and mycotoxin analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform sample preparation and analysis of cannabis and cannabis products LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS following detailed procedures described in the company’s SOPs.
· Carry out method development and execute method validation of pesticide and mycotoxin analysis in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
· Review chromatographic and QA/QC data ensuring it meets established criteria and upload final results into the LIMS.
· Submit non-conforming work to the Corrective Action/Preventive Action workflow.
· Work with the Lab Director to prepare and review SOPs and other controlled documentation.
· Perform routine calibration and maintenance of instrumentation
· Work with a team of scientists in a fast-paced environment to design and implement analytical strategies.
· Prepare technical reports.
Additional Duties May Include:

Qualifications:
· Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in relevant field

LABORATORY ANALYST

We seek a hard-working and highly motivated Lab Analyst with strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to work with a fun and dynamic team at Steep Hill. The role of Lab Analyst is extremely important and requires a multi-faceted skill set. The successful candidate and their team are responsible for acquiring and analyzing data used to perform and report analytical laboratory testing of cannabis products, assisting with sample preparation, performing advanced lab support functions, and support lab improvement projects. The ability to work across a variety of tasks, in a production environment, is an essential attribute for the successful candidate.
The Lab Analyst reports to the Laboratory Director. The successful candidate will have (i) A doctorate in the chemical or microbiological sciences from a college or university accredited by a national or regional certifying authority with a minimum of two years' post-degree laboratory experience; (ii) A master's degree in the chemical or microbiological sciences from a college or university accredited by a national or regional certifying authority with a minimum of four years' of post-degree laboratory experience; or (iii) A bachelor's degree in the chemical or microbiological sciences from a college or university accredited by a national or regional certifying authority with a minimum of six years of post-education laboratory experience, be familiar with a wide range of laboratory methodologies, and experience analyzing data acquired from instruments such as HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, ICPMS and/or instruments used to detect and quantify pathogens. The ideal candidate also will have experience with the laboratory testing of cannabis products, in a commercial lab. The Lab Analyst will be expected to work across a variety of tasks with attention to detail, organization, and professionalism.
