Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the routine cleaning of all areas of the facility. This individual should have a general knowledge of proper cleaning practices to ensure the safety and cleanliness of all surfaces, restrooms, and trash disposal.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Sweeps and mops floors in all common and restricted areas on a daily basis
- Cleans all employee bathrooms on a daily basis, including cleaning toilet and sink surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal, and restocking of paper towels and toilet paper
- Cleans hard surfaces periodically to remove dust
- Inspects buildings and supplies according to a pre-established checklist set by the Facility Manager to ensure the facility and its supplies are functional; prepare recommendations for needed repairs.
- Maintains a safe working environment, including wearing personal protective equipment, (PPE) ensuring proper storage of tools and equipment when not in use, using proper signage while working, etc.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience working in a facilities maintenance position, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment, required
- Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies, to read and understand Hazard Communication Safety Data Sheets (SDS), to understand proper applications of chemicals and general cleaning supplies, and to frequently handle and properly dispose of these products

The Role
We are hiring for a Facility Custodian for our Las Vegas location. The Facilities Custodian will hold a pivotal role in ensuring compliance standards are met across sanitation practices. You will be responsible for preserving a sanitary environment within the facility and ensuring that the building as well as the equipment inside are safe and well-functioning. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a natural drive for teamwork as well as the ability to work independently. Responsibilities
- Participate in the cleaning and sanitation of production areas by following established Standard Operating Procedures
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems and schedule regular inspections for necessary equipment (HVAC, fire extinguishers, etc)
- Clean and sanitize office areas and bathrooms
- Handle regular chores including vacuuming, mopping, organizing, sterilizing, washing
- Manage waste in accordance with compliance standards
- Perform routine upkeep of exterior areas (parking lot, front entrance, rear entrance, receiving area, etc.,) as assigned by the Manager of Facility Operations including snow removal from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using pressure washers
- Work in conjunction with the maintenance team and/or the production team as requested; when the production team needs extra help sanitizing rooms and/or cleaning up post-harvest, you may be asked to assist in their procedures
- Ensure rooms are cleaned, maintained and fully equipped with particular attention to the company break room and its appliances (refrigerators, toasters, microwaves, soap dispensers, towel dispensers, etc.)
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms at least 2 times per workday
- Clean furniture and fixtures
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Keep all door handles sterilized throughout the facility on a daily basis
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- Help to clean site equipment as requested and instructed by manager
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
- Establish an in-house inventory of cleaning supplies
- Assess and recommend maintenance needs as the business grows
- Support the various departments within the building
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years’ experience in building maintenance or sanitation required, prior experience working in highly regulated production environment preferred.
