The Director of Media and Stakeholder Relations position within the Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) is a senior leadership role responsible for assisting the OCP team with its public information and stakeholder relations responsibilities. About the Role
We are looking to add a Director, Government Relations and Public Policy to support our growing team. - Oversee comprehensive campaigns in dutchie's core markets, including the US and Canada, working with partners in and outside dutchie to frame issues to advance our agenda and advocate on behalf of our dispensary partners
- Educate and advise dutchie senior leadership on policy issues that could impact dutchie and the cannabis community in our core markets, keeping other relevant internal partners informed and involved as needed
- Develop a nuanced understanding of dutchie's current and future products and services, and assess key legislative, policy, and regulatory risks and opportunities
- Work with internal partners to articulate and share dutchie's position on priority policy issues
- Support identification of strategic targets and oversee dutchie's efforts to build strong and long-lasting relationships with policymakers

What You Bring...
- 8+ years of experience working in government and public affairs at a law firm, government agency or organization, or in-house at a technology company
- Deep knowledge of US legislative and policy processes, with experience operating in multiple jurisdictions
- Demonstrated experience working directly with government officials, including advocacy on behalf of public interest, trades associations, or any other interest groups
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills

The Regional Director of Public Relations, East, will be expected to lead and manage a regional public relations and media relations strategy that will increase awareness of Curaleaf, its products, and its unique position within each state's cannabis industry. A successful candidate will have experience managing public relations and media relations for a division or region of a public company, supporting community relations, crisis communications, and government relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage a proactive public relations and media relations strategy for Eastern states in Curaleaf business portfolio
- In partnership with VP Communications and with Marketing, manage media relations, product PR, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community relations in the Eastern region, consisting of 10 states
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and local media to enhance positive coverage of Curaleaf and Select products, people and customer experience
- Generate earned media results that meaningfully build the Curaleaf and Select brands in each state
- Work collaboratively with external regional agency partners to advance and support PR and media relations programs designed to elevate and enhance Curaleaf's corporate narrative, employee visibility, and product offerings
- Support CSR and DEI programs, partnerships, and initiatives in each state
- Support Government Relations work as it relates to Curaleaf regional business goals
- Work with marketing to develop new content creation strategies that advance enthusiasm for the Curaleaf brand in Eastern regional markets
- Working with state marketing leads, monitor and engage with social media and influencers as necessary with respect to Curaleaf and Select brand mentions
- Set all Curaleaf Eastern states PR agendas; create the calendar for external engagement opportunities and prepare spokespeople for media interaction and public appearances in each state
- In partnership with marketing, help develop a program by which to drive and measure regional influencer efforts in traditional and social media
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Approximately 8-10 years of experience in media relations and public relations, with significant experience in fast-paced, consumer-facing, product-driven public companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to confidently support and guide regional leadership with communications and public relations strategies
- Intellectual horsepower with the ability to understand complexity and specifics of regional markets
- Ability to manage multiple external agency partners and address regional PR priorities
- Excellent storytelling experience and passion for earned media results
- Strong knowledge of media landscape – brings established press relationships & pitching know-how
- Ability to leverage content to generate increased brand awareness and understanding
- Experience navigating a strongly regulated environment
- Must be highly collaborative, resourceful, flexible and adaptable and bring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rolling up the sleeves and effectively managing details
