The Role
LeafLink is seeking an experienced, analytical, and driven Director of Communications to own, build, and deliver a broad set of communications efforts, including PR, Executive Communications, and Internal Communications. In this role, you'll create a PR strategy, ensuring strong awareness and perception of the LeafLink brand, and our full platform offerings (Marketplace, Logistics, Payments). Doctors of Natural Medicine is seeking a Director of Marketing. The position requires a hard-working professional who is honest, and self-determined, with various ideas, and who can help us grow our presence in Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo, and throughout the State of Colorado and other states as well. Your job will be to distribute our flyers to Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Denver using our company car, nurture our relationship with those dispensaries and collect data so we can measure our marketing success.
Pay is negotiable, but you will also receive an additional bonus every time you solidify a deal with a dispensary. Our last marketing team member averaged about one deal per week.
Additional duties may include working from home once a week on our digital marketing campaigns with your design software of choice. Ideally, you have at least 1 year of some design experience.
We also use Later to schedule our posts on our social media platforms.

Description of Job
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and Community Relations, the Director of Communications/Public Information Officer (PIO) will plan, implement and evaluate effective communication strategies to promote the mission and vision of the university. The ideal candidate will possess resourcefulness, experience, and energy to improve CSU Pueblo’s image, visibility, and support with its key constituents through creation and implementation of specific communications initiatives. This person implements projects that address the goals and objectives of the University’s communication plans to insure a consistent and cohesive message through a variety of communication formats.
Primary Duties
- Works with the Executive Director to launch strategic Communications initiatives, specifically for targeted demographics, utilizing creative and cost-effective print and electronic communications. Serves on the Enrollment Initiatives Committee.
- Serves as chief content developer and curator for the university: identifying, writing, editing and curating campus stories for university publications, website, digital marketing efforts, media statements, press releases, etc., Ensures formal communication adheres to AP style standards.
- Leads media relations efforts for CSU Pueblo - serving as primary media contact and spokesperson, and intake for campus press release requests and prioritization. Builds positive media relationships with local, regional and national media. Organizes press events as needed.
- Leads and manages the university’s social media efforts, including developing content, providing direction and leadership with campus entities and their social media efforts and monitoring and responding to external and internal submissions and postings.
- Works with the Executive Director to support the President and other Cabinet members in preparing communications to both internal and external audiences.
- Assists in the implementation of university crisis communications plans. Provides support and backup to the Executive Director in times of crisis – serving as designated Public Information Officer within incident command structure. Works with other PIOs in the city and region to build relationships for a crisis incident. Serves as a member of the Campus Safety Committee.
- Leads internal communication efforts including production of regular communications and maintaining the campus e-newsletter (E-mail Digest) and website news room and Wolf Den.
- Manages the University’s Digital Signage program, including oversight with IT of new installations, creation of content, training of new users, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting system performance.

The Director, External Communications leads the strategy and execution of external corporate communications programs, including media strategy and media relations, corporate messaging, and issues management to protect and advance Green Thumb's leadership and reputation as a trusted and leading operator and employer in this new and evolving cannabis industry. This role will collaborate with the CEO, senior business leaders, and key partners to create and execute a robust approach to external communications that articulates and promotes Green Thumb's mission, values, and business objectives, while enhancing the company's reputation.
Responsibilities include:
POSITIONING & PLANNING
- Lead external communications for corporate priorities, including but not limited to M&A, earnings, corporate news, partnerships, and issues management.
- Create and execute integrated press media campaigns and communications narratives that drive awareness and create news via company announcements, product launches, brand partnerships, executive profiling and thought leadership.
- Partner with senior leaders and communications team members to establish and manage an annual editorial calendar of key external communication activities, compelling brand and business stories, conferences, awards, etc., to share our story with each of our core audiences, including business, trade, investors, government, regulators and consumers.
- Direct and manage communications agencies (e.g. PR and IR) to ensure all communications plans are integrated into corporate narrative and executed on strategy, on time, and on budget; act as company liaison for PR agency while collaborating with marketing/brand teams on external communication strategies for our CPG brands.
- Oversee awards program to ensure the company and executives are nominated for prominent awards within and outside the cannabis industry.
- Lead investor relations communications including quarterly earnings, updates to investor presentations and the annual report and CEO letter.
- Proactively monitor and conduct ongoing analyses of the impact of key market and industry issues and trends for which Green Thumb can provide a point of view; working quickly to inform teams and develop recommendations/integrated plans/messaging as appropriate.
MEDIA MANAGEMENT & EXECUTION
- Oversee and guide the day-to-day proactive pitching, fulfillment of local and national media requests, speaking engagements, appearances, and major news pieces around corporate strategy and thought leadership, providing media and external relations counsel, training, responses, and talking points when appropriate.
- Draft, edit and continuously improve communications strategy and messaging materials, including press releases, briefing documents, FAQs and fact sheets for external audiences (media releases, speeches, bylines, etc.).
- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with local and national consumer and financial/business media.
- Build, expand and maintain media lists; monitor, track and report media coverage and mentions for stakeholders including senior leadership teams and board directors.
- Serve as a key communications representative; when necessary, act as company spokesperson.
- Handle sensitive or proprietary company information; Proactively plan against and advise leadership during challenges and crises.
- Coordinate with internal communications teams and leaders to ensure consistent and cohesive key messages and talking points are developed and distributed to the right internal audiences when and where appropriate.
- Work with communications and marketing team/partners to maintain an up-to-date, consistent and cohesive brand voice across all corporate communication channels (e.g. website, social media, social impact and employee branding and engagement initiatives).
- 10+ years of experience in corporate, executive and external communications; public company preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Communications or related field preferred
- Ability to build cross functional relationships and interact successfully at all levels of the company
- Experience with a variety of communication channels, including social media
- Critical thinker with superb storytelling, writing, editing and presentation skills
- Proven track record of building and implementing a successful external communication strategy
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
