Job Description
Assist with maintenance and monitoring of machines and equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment and machinery to ensure optimal running conditions for maximum output of product and efficiency.
This position will be responsible for assisting in maintaining automation equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting facility equipment including but not limited to: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatic systems, Low Voltage, CCTV, Office Equipment, and production equipment.
Equipment and Machines:
- Preventative maintenance and calibration of key production equipment through knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems

Job Description
IPM Technicians are responsible for all hands-on applications of integrated pest management (IPM) including mixing and applying pesticides, pest and pathogen monitoring and identification, cleaning and sanitation activities. IPM Technician reports directly to the Cultivation Lead.
The right candidate demonstrates proficiency, organization, calmness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment; works independently, and prioritizes quality and integrity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct operations in professional manner to ensure State Compliance Laws are upheld.
- Perform all assigned IPM tasks.
- Maintain and follow company and cultivation department policies and procedures.
- Follow IPM scheduling and organization to help cultivation manager precisely project all IPM needs.
- Follow all issued IPM SOPs accurately.
- Fill out all forms and logs associated with IPM responsibilities.
- Work within the company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity.
- Must manage their time during work efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality results.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, initiative and quality of work.
- Daily reports + noting agendas and planning priorities.
- Fill out all logs consistently and accurately.
- Maintain up-to-date work shift responsibilities on company calendar, and inform Cultivation Manager of any changes.
- Facility and plant observation walk-throughs.
- Monitoring Facility for pest and disease issues.
- Wash and sanitize all equipment ensuring all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cultivation facility.
- Performing other assigned job duties as assigned.
- Skill in analyzing potential problems with a plant or the product being processed.
- Working knowledge of pest and disease control and management.
- Continuous learning of pest and disease control and management.
- Helping with regular insect monitoring card collection, counting, and submission to Cultivation Manager / Quality Assurance
- Clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every shift.
Specific Plant Care Duties
- Mixing and applying pesticides
- Monitoring and scouting for pests and pathogens
- Collecting and replacing insect monitoring cards, counting insects, and submitting reports
- Applying biological control specimens
- Root Drench IPM applications
- Cleaning and Sanitizing grow bays
- Maintenance of IPM equipment and machinery
- Wearing and maintaining the PPE required for IPM applications
- Ensuring Cultivation manager and team are informed that a pesticide application is occurring
- Adhere to proper workflow such as working in clean areas before moving to dirty/contaminated areas of greenhouse
- Any additionally assigned tasks
- Foliar feeding: veg and early flowering
- Monitoring and refilling sulfur vaporizers
- Completing and signing all logs
- Daily reports + noting tomorrow’s agenda & priorities
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observe and follow all company established clean room policies and rules
- Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed an/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed.
- Must work well with others and ability to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods and technique.
- Use of independent judgment regarding product processing, keeping quality, projections and goals in mind.
- Employee must be able to follow basic instructions and ability to take constructive criticism from their managers to maintain quality standards and production goals.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- IPM staff must understand and implement the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company and the cultivation department.
- IPM staff should have a basic understanding of the cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state.
- Fundamental Knowledge and familiarity with pesticide handling, as well as the laws governing pesticide use.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor.
- Ability to work in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have reliable transportation

Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product.
- Excellent vision and hearing.
- Requires prolonged standing and some bending, stooping, sitting and stretching for extended periods of time while maintaining focus - some movement may be repetitive.
- Work is performed in a fast-paced cannabis grow location.
- Work is subject to weather conditions, including rain and hot or cold temperatures.
- Will require working rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings weekends, holidays, and special events.
- May eventually include working an alternative workweek.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience applying pesticides for cannabis or other botanicals preferred.
- Previous agricultural/warehouse/manufacturing/laborer experience a plus.
- Must be 21 years old per state regulations and pass a criminal background check.
- Current Colorado Private Applicator’s License holder preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Current MED employee (support/key) badge preferred or ability to obtain prior to starting work.
