Budtender Position Summary:
Assist the management team with the activities and operations of the store, while abiding by policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Responsible for helping customers, checking them out, cash handling and customer service.
Shift Lead Position Summary:
During scheduled managerial shifts, Shift Lead will provide support to the activities and operations of the store, enforce policies and procedures, and operational guidelines. Monitor employee actions, handle customer service issues, complete budtender duties as necessary and act as the Manager-On-Duty when the Store Manager & Assistant Manager are absent. In addition, will complete all budtender duties as described on the Budtender Job Description when scheduled for non-managerial shifts.
Budtender Essential Functions:
Responsible for helping customers in the retail locations in accordance with The Clinic Marijuana Center’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
Responsible for retail product knowledge so as to assist customers in making the right choices.
Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, as well as customer service, including:
- Answering the phone and greeting walk-in customers
- Accurately use and maintain the Point Of Sale (POS) system
- Correct cash handling and discount application
- Accurate and timely data entry of patient profiles and maintenance of hard copy files
- Verifying proper paperwork, documentation and ID for customers
- Security measures and safety compliance
- Store organization and cleanliness
- Managing the visitor log
- Verifying order deliveries for accuracy and assisting with package labeling
- Adherence to inventory management procedures and assisting with product management
- Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
- Report employee issues or customer situations
Provide any necessary support to the management team to ensure retail store operations, including: daily activities, maintenance, as well as patient information for any reported issues and/or customer complaints.
Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and following The Clinic’s established policies for sales and customer service.
Shift Lead Essential Functions:
- Focus on Customer Service. Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest services. Be a strong host personality on the floor and provide budtenders with strategies to improve their guest interactions. Resolve customer complaints or problems professionally.
- Focus on Merchandising and Inventory Management.Maintains all merchandising standards, display presentations, signing standards and monitor inventory levels. Keep the showroom clean and orderly. Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales. Assist with receiving orders, checking manifests, preparing inventory for sale, and accurate data entry in POS and METRC. Adhere to established inventory procedures and organizational standards.
- Focus on Compliance and Safety.Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
- Focus on Accountability. Plans and assigns daily goals, tasks and assignments. Effectively communicate job expectations. Foster teamwork. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures. Hold staff accountable for customer service standards, cash handling, attendance, task completion, and professionalism. Report any violations to General Manager/Assistant Manager.
Job Specifications:
- Knowledge and enforcement of the policies, procedures and goals of The Clinic Marijuana Center and affiliates.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, METRC, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
Additional Requirements:
- Colorado driver’s license or State ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must obtain and retain a state-issued MED a key badge
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required, some college or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)

SHIFT LEADER
Arizona Organix Shift Leads are the front line of both customer service and company policy for the organization’s clinic location. A Shift Lead is expected to successfully preform all the duties of an educator, while also functioning as a liaison between Patient Counselors and management. Those in this position will also be expected to function as a Manager on Duty when assigned. Beyond assisting and educating patients, Shift Leads will be expected to assist with cash drops, open and closing of the dispensary and inventory, as needed. Shift Leads are expected to adhere to HIPAA laws, be actively aware of their surroundings, and to work to complete the mission of Arizona Organix while adhering to all state regulations.
Shift Leader are tenured employees within our company who oversee retail sales and services in the absence of a retail manager. They can answer employee concerns, make decisions, and troubleshoot if problems arise in the place of the retail manager. They are trusted employees.
Shift Leaders perform the same tasks as hourly employees while having the authority to manage co-workers in the absence of the retail manager. Shift Leaders are responsible for resolving issues with employees and patrons while ensuring work is completed on schedule within a shift.
Responsibilities
- Assigning team members with tasks to be completed each shift
- Setting performance metrics for team members and work with team members to ensure all metrics are met
- Properly resolving problems and troubleshooting issues as they arise without the direction of management
- Managing multiple projects as well as staff members
- Reporting to the retail manager and meeting with management to review goals and metrics
- Maintaining a work environment that meets company, state and federal safety and employment guidelines
- Monitor and supervise the timely arrival of scheduled employees, be aware of unforeseen challenges like scheduling conflicts and see to it the business is adequately staffed
- Address customer concerns in reference to products or employee interactions
- Establish tasks for employees to ensure a clean workplace, this includes stocking supplies and maintaining clean restrooms and public spaces
- Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
- Train new hires on the standards and procedures of the company, from how to handle a negative customer experience to how to properly serve customers
- Oversee and administer tests to see that all employees have a firm understanding of company policy, such as schedule changes and calling into work
- Recognize outstanding employees for exemplary work and call attention to workers that are professional and meet their goals
Qualifications
A successful Shift Leader will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask. They must be team oriented as they will work across departments to manage a project from start to finish, making sure all departments’ needs and concerns are addressed.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
- 2+ years of industry experience
- 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of required company software, POS, and tools
- Ability to assess situations quickly properly and accurately while adhering to company policies
- Ability to work in the standing position for hours at a time
- Experience managing the daily staff of a retail store
- Facilitate a positive environment and support a safe and productive workplace
- Proven leadership and experience managing a diverse team is preferred
- Effective in prioritizing daily tasks while accounting for unforeseen challenges
