The right candidate will lead a team in both Batching and Manufacturing on the beverage line utilizing state-of-the-art automation; Automated can de-palletizer, rotary filler, tunnel pasteurizer, continuous carton packer, tray packer, palletizer, and utility systems (CIP skid, RO water filtration, de-aerated water, in-line blenders). Every day will present different challenges and you will be looked at consistently to provide the best service and innovative solutions to produce the highest quality products.
About the Job:
As a manufacturing supervisor, the individual will work with the Director of Operations to efficiently allocate labor and resources to ensure commercial demand and production schedule is met. The position will oversee the start-up, production, and shut-down of operations, completion of assigned production batches including, but not limited to equipment and operator safety, quality control checks, proper supplies and PPE, instruction on equipment operations, production reporting, maintaining & improving line efficiencies, and overall packaging related skillsets. The team members will process cannabis beverages from raw materials to packaging as final product, abiding by policies, procedures, and production guidelines. Duties will include the following:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for manufacturing and packaging.
- Run day-to- day operations and lead beverage team to success on KPIs, demand fulfillment, safety, waste reduction, and quality.
- Execute and coordinate employee training in operations, safety, quality standards, GMP’s, etc. to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all safety and quality requirements.
- Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the manufacturing line.
- Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Director of Operations
- Create work orders and coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs and calibration of equipment with maintenance department
- Recommend initiatives to maintain safe operations, improve production and equipment performance to increase efficiency, quality, and safety of department and team members.
- Study production schedule to understand type and quantity of product, containers to be used, raw ingredient and packaging material requirements, and labor resources needed in order to ensure continuous operation without issues.

- Run standardized inspections, CIP and maintenance on equipment to ensure quality packaging and maximum performance
- Supervise staff and ensure compliance in all following areas:
- CIP brite tanks, hoses/pump, and all mixing, canning and filling equipment in preparation for receiving beer in totes according to SOP
- Purge brite tanks to under 10 ppb oxygen with Co2 and test with a gehaltameter
- Co-ordinate the shipping of non-alcoholic beer totes from California brewery, receive totes of beer and pasteurize/transfer to brite tank while maintaining sanitation and low oxygen pickup
- Rinse empty totes for shipping
- Carbonate beer in brite tank according to SOP and test with a gehaltemeter
- Accurately infuse beers with nano-emulsion THC and ensure CIP can-line according to SOP
- CIP equipment for making and canning ready-to-drink coffees and teas
- Perform scheduled maintenance
- Rack beer into kegs
- Effectively work and coordinate with packaging team
- Monitor inventories of raw materials and finished goods with attention to long lead time items
- Operate 3-head semi-auto keg washer
- Ensure secure pallet packaging
- Work with truck drivers to load and unload products in a safe secure manner.
- Ensure maintenance on all equipment and ensure workspaces are clean, and orderly
- Maintain clean work environment and organized warehouse
- Assist in cross-department tasks as required by the Production Manager and management
- Accurately keep records pertaining to all tasks
- Establish and document all SOPs for all areas under his/her supervision
- Maintain accurate inventory and raw materials and packaged goods in conjunction with Production manager
- Work with QA/QC team to support the Company’s HACCP protocols
- Work with Production Manager, enter necessary Work Orders into MRP system continuously, plan raw materials staging, and overall planning of canning and filling lines production schedules
- Ensure accurate tracking and Work Order entry of all usage of elixirs for demo/tasting/Sixtel programs, and/or for lab testing purposes
- Lead and supervise a canning line team
- Additional duties as required
. Requirements:
- 4 + years of experience in a production environment, preferably in a regulated field producing liquids for human consumption
- Strong mechanical skill sets, complex equipment functions, understanding and skill
- Must work safely with and around hazardous chemicals and equipment and ensure the safe handling by all staff
- Development of all SOPs for his/her areas of responsibility
- Effective problem-solving skills under pressure
- Must regularly stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment up to 165 lbs. for extended periods of time
- Must complete repetitive tasks, including: leaning, bending and twisting for extended periods of time
- Must thrive in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment
- Strong personnel supervisory and time management experience

Summary:
Theory Wellness is seeking a Beverage Operations Supervisor for our facility in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. A Beverage Operations Supervisor is responsible for safe cellar & packaging operations during a packaging shift while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.Reports to the SVP of Production, with support from the V.P. of Manufacturing & E.H.S. & SR. Infusion Manufacturing Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising all aspects of beverage line packaging and batching operations
- Helps to track and report line efficiencies, operational costs, down time trends, quality issues, full good product/ raw material yields, change controls, and staffing morale and issues
- Direct supervision of all daily operations for, canning, and additional lines as added
- Responsible for batching in all beverage line products
- Responsible for supervising beverage tanks and sanitation protocols
- Responsible for consistently meeting the daily packaging and batching schedules for beverage line or lines
- Responsible for scheduling the shifts for the packaging department
- Responsible for ensuring production efficiencies are at or above targets
- Responsible for ensuring the packaging department understands and is onboard with company goals
- Responsible for controlling direct labor cost as packaging volume changes
- Responsible for ensuring raw material inventory, fullgood, and month end inventories are accurate
- Responsible for ensuring full good inventory is verified and reported accurately daily
- Collaborate with maintenance to build the packaging department’s role with pm's
- Ensure packaged quality control procedures are followed and continually improved
- Responsible for writing, reviewing, and training operators and company/ department S.O.P's.
- Responsible for training schedules and tracking the progress throughout the year
- Hold weekly department meetings to update staff on department performance.
- Works with leadership and marketing department to ensure smooth rollouts of any new packaging changes
- Collaborate with maintenance dept. to properly train staff on new equipment
- Follow up on safety committee recommendations on best practice
- Contributing to a positive work environment through open and constructive dialog with staff and management
