Position Description: The Post-Harvest Trim Supervisor provides supervision of the trim operation in the grower processer facility and reports to the Post-Harvest Manager. Trim Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all of the processes of the trim department, including, but not limited to properly trimming,sorting, weighing, packaging, and labeling of material designated for finished goods process, maintaining inventory updates and adjustments and ensuring a compliant processing environment. Trim Supervisor will be cross trained in Post-Harvest to provide occasional support in other areas per business needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate the values of integrity, safety, quality, service, and innovation
- Provide accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Teamwork for the packing room team and processes reporting on KPI’s daily, monthly, and quarterly
- Design, create, implement, and improve packing procedures in the department
- Provide leadership and guidance to Packing Room Lead(s) to ensure daily/weekly operations, productivity, and quality goals are met
- Conduct employee evaluations, counseling, or other documentation to maintain consistency and successful results
- Ensure adherence to policies and SOPs set forth by upper management, state and company requirements
- Provide direction to Packing Room Lead(s) and technicians on daily/weekly production schedules

- Monitor the bud ratios and overall quality of material to provide feedback to the Post-Harvest Manager
- Accurately document production data using paper logs, internal data systems, and the state compliance system (MJF)
- Responsible for all material movements and weights for the trimming process, verifying location movements, weights, and transactions in MJF
- Responsible for the trim room and related processes (destemming, hand trimming, machine trimming, and sorting)
- Provide mentorship for the Packing Room Lead(s), developing them professionally
- Assist in the training of new Packing Room Lead(s) and technicians
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Review and maintain dry room supplies; submit orders to the Post-Harvest Manager for replacements

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 2+ years of leadership experience desired
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree desired (or equitable role experience)
- Ability to multi-task, have attention to detail, and be able to clearly communicate in writing or verbally
- Cannabis Experience a plus
- Utilization of Cannabis State tracking system- MJ Freeway, METRIC or the like desirable
- Operational knowledge of the MS Suite including Excel, Sharepoint and Teams
- Strong analytical, operational research, root cause, and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict; ability to provide feedback and develop team
- Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures to others

Harvest & Trim Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the harvest and trim. They are an integral part of the cultivation department who ensure that the product is tracked accurately and is processed in a timely manner with special attention to meeting Kaya Cannabis’ quality standards. Harvest & Trim Supervisors are expected to monitor the quality of the product and provide the harvest/trim crew with feedback and/or corrections as needed. They must also accurately enter harvest and trim data into multiple platforms.
When harvests and trims are complete, this position will assist the Facility Manager with the maintenance, cleanliness and with working hands on with the plants. Various tasks include general cleaning, washing pots, cleaning trays, transplanting, pruning, etc.
Principle responsibilities include:
- Following all policy, protocol and SOPs set forth by management and in accordance with state laws and regulations
- Setting up the room prior to the harvest/trim with special attention to cleanliness
- Ensuring that all the tools and equipment necessary for the harvest/trim are available
- Weighing plants, finished product and waste in a manner that is efficient and compliant
- Filling out the harvest/trim logs accurately and legibly, then entering data into METRC, POS systems and internal documents
- Sorting product into bud, popcorn, shake and trim and packaging accordingly
- Packaging and labeling product in a neat and organized manner
- Monitoring the bud/trim ratios, bud/popcorn ratios and the overall quality of the trim and providing feedback to the harvest/trim crew accordingly
- Ensuring that Kaya Cannabis’ standards and procedures are being met by the harvest/trim crew
- Having a clear understanding of all aspects of the harvest/trim including cutting, breaking down, de-fanning and hanging the plant during harvest and bucking and trimming the buds during the trimming process
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace throughout the day, at the end of every shift and deep cleaning at the end of every harvest and trim
- Communicating clearly with the Harvest & Trim Director about any issues regarding quality, efficiency, staffing, etc.
- While most of the work will take place at our Boulder production facility occasionally some work will occur in Denver as well.
- After all harvest and trim duties are complete, assisting the facilities manager with various cleaning, organization and cultivation tasks.
Previous experience and other requirements:
- Reliable transportation

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Verifying and/or correcting harvest batches to make sure they are correctly labeled by strain, not damaged or infected.

- Verify tags/strain/license/batch ID.
- Providing informal and formal feedback and coaching to your team members.
- Coordinate with Senior Manager to ensure harvest process is planned for and executed properly.
- Continue to refine the harvest processes to maximize efficiency and improve quality.
- Prepare any Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) requirements for your team members to be approved by Senior Manager.
- Ensure timesheets are accurate for all of your team members and are approved on time.
- Assist employees with navigation of HR portal and Spoke
- All other duties assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- MED Key/Support Badge
- At least 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Observant & detail oriented
- Ability to do on-the-fly problem solving
- Strong communication skills
- Regular attendance at scheduled hours expected and is considered an essential function necessary for the efficient operation of business
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous cannabis experience, specifically in Post-Harvest
- Metrc knowledge
- Previous experience maintaining and operating machinery
