J&J Family of Farms is looking for a responsible Senior Farming & Grower Accounting Manager responsible for effective communication with Farm Management and Grower Partners, along with the daily processing of subsidiary ledger and general ledger, calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manage and lead a team of farm and grower accounts payable specialists to perform timely and consistent accounting principles.
- Ability to work on journal entries, performing calculations, general ledger account research, reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, troubleshooting, farm budgeting, forecasting 52-week Farm cashflow and 4-week grower cash flow.
- Develop relationships with growers, farm management, vendors, and customers, maintaining organized files, producing, and analyzing various management reports.
- Assist in preparation of accurate and timely financial statements & variance reports for all managed entities to be reviewed by Controller
- Assist Controller with Month End Close Process
- Learn Famous ERP system, reports, capabilities, and procedures for extracting information.
- Develop reports that accurately represent and summarize critical cost elements
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports

Engages in the development, delivery, and evaluation of research/development outreach programming and training for contract growers and GVI personnel. The Sr. Grower Relations Representative manages an assigned vineyard territory and partners with grape growers to influence vineyard practices. - Utilizes and integrates new and existing growing technology
- Oversees crop production in assigned areas
- Analyzes insect and disease conditions and implements appropriate control measures
- Develops crop fertilization plan and oversees fertilization of crops by Growers and Grower Assistants
- Maintains pesticide and irrigation records up to date
- Researches and compiles safety controls procedures
- Performs fertilizers calculations
- Supervises and directs the assigned Assistant Growers and Growers
- Determines biological orders based on scouting & reports
- Works closely with the Site General Manager to achieve maximum growth & crop production
- Responsible for developing seeding plan with the site General Manager
- Assists the General Manager with budget development and expense allocation
- Reports any departmental discrepancies or problems to the site General Manager
- Monitors production at an off-site facility
- Leads ongoing growth activities and communicates effectively with all management
- Provides technical expertise to Greenhouse personnel
