As a Grower Relations Representative you will manage an assigned vineyard territory and partner with grape growers to influence vineyard practices. You will build and manage strategic grower relationships to drive grape quality through grape growing and viticulture practices. - Negotiates most short-term contract terms with guidelines from leadership.

- Reports market intelligence regularly to leadership and stays current with market activity pertaining to assigned territory or region.

- Supports the training and development of new Grower Relations Reps.
- Directs seasonal staff members.
- Continuously improves and develops new skills; stays current with the latest literature and takes initiative to apply ideas that potentially could contribute to improved viticulture processes.

What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Business Administration plus 2 years of grower relations or agriculture experience OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of grower relations or agriculture experience.
- Experience working a minimum of 3 vintages.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Required to drive to various vineyard locations as part of job functions.

Summary
Engages in the development, delivery, and evaluation of research/development outreach programming and training for contract growers and GVI personnel. - Analyzes, launches, and participates in new vineyard technology solutions and software systems; partners with IT team members to develop user-friendly interfaces.
- Supports Technical Manager in the development of educational materials, technologies, and tools for grower implementation of best practices.
- Review project plans with Grower Outreach team to determine time frame, resource limitations, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
- Participates in the development of recommendations and provide problem solving strategies for grape quality issues in grower vineyards.
- Maintains equipment and infrastructure required for vineyard demonstration trials and other Grower Outreach activities.

As a Grower Relations Representative, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with wine grape suppliers, monitor all aspects of wine grape production including quality assurance at all stages of grape growing season as well as facilitate harvest and work in cooperation with other wine production team members.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of confidential materials and situations.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills including satisfactory attendance and timeliness to meetings and events.
- Function as a liaison between winery and growers to include: educating/advising on current market conditions, quality standards and viticulture practices.
- Monitor the performance of growers and field conditions during the growing season by gathering data through observation and maintaining thorough records.
- Responsible for crop estimates during the growing season to forecast the current year’s wine grape supply.
- Schedule delivery of grapes from the field to winery.
- Report grower dissatisfaction, underperforming vineyards and other issues to management.
