We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Sr. Manager, Grower Relations to join our team in Napa at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.
What you will do:
- Develop, implement, monitor and/or advise on custom viticulture programs for California wineries for contracted grower vineyards in areas including but not limited to:
- Irrigation Management
- Vine/Soil Nutrition Management
- Vineyard Cultural Practices
- Pest & Disease Management
- Grape Quality Management
- Sustainable Agricultural Practices
- Canopy Management
- Responsible for development and implementation of grower relations programs including management of grower contracts.
- Direct interaction with contract growers, outside contractors and vendors.
- Represent company with state and county regulatory agencies and in technical groups, seminars, conferences, etc.
- Interface with Winemakers and Growers to communicate observations about various vineyard locations and provide specific recommendations.
- Actively promote improvements in the vineyards throughout the season for enhancement of wine-growing practices.
- Provide viticulture information necessary for grape assessment.
- Coordinate and oversee grape harvesting and deliveries during crush.

What you will bring:
- BS degree in Viticulture (preferred)
- 5+ years experience in viticulture or vineyard management.
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of plant physiology, sustainable agriculture, soil science, nutrition, and irrigation management.
- Must possess good, time management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
- Proficient in computer related technologies.
- Possess an understanding of sensory analysis and winemaking.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends during certain times of the season.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
- Valid driver’s license.
