Position Summary:
Extraction Technician will actively work to maximize the efficiency of our extraction equipment, ensure compliance, and clean and maintain the room & equipment. Persons in this role will be expected to perform hydrocarbon extraction in a closed loop system, and utilize quality control measures to ensure the output of high quality products.
Essential Duties:
- Meeting production deadlines
- Operate the Extraction equipment and instruments to produce extracted cannabis oil.
- Operates and monitors the instruments in the Extraction room such as RotoVap, vacuum flasks and pumps, hot plates, etc.
- Monitors the equipment and ensures that pressure and temperature gauges are properly set.
- Record all data as required, including settings, yields, log books for inventory, etc.
- Clean and maintain equipment, instruments and the Extraction Room overall.
- Repair and replace parts on extraction equipment and instruments, and rebuild as needed.
- Assist with the creation of batch production records and labels.
- Ensure proper handing, packaging, labeling and storage of all products, materials, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures.
- Weighing, packaging, labeling, and documentation of bulk cannabis product, as well as the tracking of batch numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
- Utilize the company software platform to track the raw materials, finished oil, and batch processes within the system.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1+ years of experience & knowledge in the Hydro Carbon Extraction process.
- Familiarity with extraction machinery, preventive maintenance, tools and lab instruments.
- Ability to meet production goals with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
- Proficiency in Windows based software and Internet navigation.
- Accurate data entry and record keeping.

We are currently seeking an Extraction Lab Technician to perform solvent (hydrocarbon)/ solventless (water hash) extractions and the following related processes:
Responsibilities
- Perform extractions using CLS hydrocarbon (butane & propane) and solventless methodology, as directed.
- Perform post-processing and clean-up of extracts.
- Perform distillations for purification of extracts and production of vape cartridges.
- Assist in research, development and formulation of experiments.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on extraction instrumentation and other equipment.
- Perform basic calculations and assess mathematical-based data.
- Prepare, coordinate and document samples for third-party laboratory testing.
- Quality assurance/quality control.
- Maintain inventory using state-mandated tracking system; proper documentation of waste.
- Maintain organized documentation of data and batch production records.
- Perform any task as directed by the Director of Laboratory and Extraction Operations.
- Assist other departments as necessary.
Minimum Qualification and Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or equivalent cannabis-extraction experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in various extraction methods preferred.
- Fire safety and hazardous material safety knowledge.
- Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Diligent record-keeping.

Job Overview :
The Hydrocarbon Extraction Lab Technician is responsible for the operations of a hydrocarbon based closed loop extraction machine and associated secondary processing. A successful Lab Technician will consistently seek to increase knowledge and skills for the given process. The role will include working independently, as part of a team, and in a management capacity with a subordinate team. A diverse skill set is appreciated for this role.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Oversee operation of active closed loop hydrocarbon extraction equipment
- Monitor and operate degassing ovens and secondary processing equipment
- Assist in planning extraction schedule to maximize efficiency
- Be knowledgeable about the stages of the lab process
- Make recommendations on SOP adjustments

ROLE:
We are looking for a hard-working individual to help run our advanced hydrocarbon extraction system. Individuals will be expected to safely and effectively extract raw cannabis material to produce cannabis concentrates (e.g., shatter, sugar wax, etc.) for legal medical and recreational consumption.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Performing individual duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
- Carrying out all extraction processing in an efficient manner that also complies with OSHA regulations and SOP’s and all applicable laboratory procedures.
- Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceed AMMA’s specifications and patients’ expectations. Such quality assurance work shall include but not be limited to:
- Recording and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout AMMA’s process
- Continually strive to improve AMMA’s processes for improved patient safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing
- Support new product and process development work with our Team.
- Monitoring and managing lab and processing equipment supplies, inventory, and cleanliness.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum.
Age: State law requires that applicants be 21 years old and over and be issued an agent card to work for a cultivation center.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least one to three years of applicable medical cannabis or related extraction, formulating, and packaging experience with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality. Experience with closed loop BHO (butane, propane, mix gas) systems and ethanol extraction preferred, including large scale production sugar wax, crumble, and shatter.
Physical Requirements: Include standing, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds by themselves and 75+ pounds with a buddy, carrying product totes, pushing carts, moving, and adjusting process equipment.
