Zannah Farms is flower farm located in the Laguna De Santa Rosa near Sebastopol, CA. We grow and sell most of our flowers on site, and sales channels include onsite farm stand, event buckets and arrangements, and some experiences and farm tours. The Flower Grower plans, directs, coordinates, and performs planting, cultivating, harvesting, design, and market activities to grow and sell flowers and foliage plants.
The entry requirement for this occupation is some higher education or higher qualification or certifications or at least 2 years relevant experience. Flower growing knowledge a must. This is full time year-round job with 6- day work weeks including weekend (it's our busiest days) during the growing season and flexible paid time off during the winter slow period. This is a labor intensive job with lifting and movement as well as organization and planning. Approximate salary $45,000 per annual or estimated $18 to $26 per hour depending on experience and work period.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plans and manages the production and marketing of flowering and foliage plants from soil preparation to harvest taking into account environmental and market factors
- Selects suitable plants and bulbs for growing, harvests crops, grades and stores picked flowers, bunches and packages flowers for market
- Create crop plan, organize, plant and nurture greenhouse seed starts and succession seeds for planting
- Conducts soil analyses, prepares and maintains growing media and sites
- Controls temperature, light, irrigation, and humidity in greenhouses to maintain optimal growing conditions
- Plan, place, and monitor irrigation system for all planting sites
- Maintains crops by planting, weeding, identifying, and treating pests and diseases, de budding, fertilizing and watering plants
- Daily early morning harvest 6 days per week during main growing season
- Maintains and keeps clean farm and nursery buildings, fences, tractor, 4X4, equipment, tools, and water supply systems

Fable is located in Yorktown, NY right off the 134 Exit of the Taconic State Parkway. Their website is www.fablefoods.com. They are looking for a mushroom grower to help continue and grow production of this crop now in high demand. Varieties include Oyster, Lion's Mane, and others. Must be a self-starter, creative, and have the ability to think outside-the-box as this is a new position and department Fable is looking to create. Start date is ASAP. Potential for full-time employment can be discussed.
While growing and maintaining mushrooms will be the grower's primary responsibility, the occasional help with their market and livestock may be required. Applicants should be friendly, professional, and have a team-spirit. The position also requires the ability to provide clear and organized direction to any assistants and interns as the new department develops.
