THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Construction-Manufacturing, will be responsible for administering all aspects of manufacturing and facility build-outs or improvements as well as maintaining the project budget, schedule, and change management. This role will require experience supervising in all phases of General Construction, including but not limited to, running permits, inspections, and closing projects on time and within budget. - Support operational planning through technical expertise and process adherence for standardized SOWs, bid review, RFIs, submittals, change order management, materials supply management, RFP’s and real-time reporting.
- Helping to maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
- Manage the bidding, selection, contracting, and performance of subcontractors. Develop and negotiate partnerships with third-party contractors and service providers to deliver best in class service at competitive prices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other similar degrees
- 15+ years of Construction Management experience [15 for Director, 10 for PM, 5 for APM]
- Experience in manufacturing construction required
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction drawings, work orders and survey notes
- Excellent technical skills, including using computers, the Internet and file sharing [crazy you have to say that but true]
- Must demonstrate the following qualities: leadership, professionalism, self-motivated, self-directed, reliable, dependable, possess good judgment, trustworthy, honest, and able to make sound judgments

Summary of Position:
Alternative Healthcare Company is seeking a Director of Construction for the buildout and retrofit of cannabis dispensaries and cultivation facilities.
As the Director of Construction, you will be responsible for the execution of the projects under your management including safe, on-time, on budget completion, adherence to corporate and contract compliance, and quality control. You must have a proven track recorded in all phases of building construction and also have demonstrated financial management/forecasting experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct the scope of work, evaluate bids, and negotiate general construction contracts
- Oversee the contract change process.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to monitor project management compliance with reporting related to corporate policy and the contract documents.
- Accept projects from the estimating department at budget transfer.
- Ensure the margin analyses are accurate and timely. Dig deep to mitigate potential losses and to enhance profitability.
- Review the schedule and weekly narrative to ensure the project is tracking for on-time and on-budget completion
- Manage subcontractors and vendors
- Manage quality control
- Verify daily field tasks with subcontractors
- Assist in building department related issues
- Visit out-of-state sites on an infrequent basis to remain updated on construction activities.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
- 8 to 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager
- Strong communication skills with the level of maturity and presence necessary to work collaboratively with senior executives
- Ability to continuously drive the process forward
