The Cultivation Tech I position supports the day-to-day cultivation operations in the stocking and upkeep of a medical cannabis production facility. Cultivation department activities may span the entire production cycle of the plant, from propagation through harvest. The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a medical grade horticultural environment, where attention to detail is extremely important, and the work is fast paced, physically demanding, and highly regulated. Duties are completed individually and in small teams, under the supervision of area leads and Cultivation Supervisors. The position is structured around two levels, with a required training program and expected functions:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cultivation Technician I - Level 1
All candidates must be able to work in an environment with a safety culture. Extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and high dexterity functions are required. Work Environment
The employee will be expected to work inside in a cultivation and growing atmosphere and must follow GMP and GACP Quality standards. Use of mechanized equipment in warehouse environments should be expected.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands include bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, walking, standing and using stairs to enter/exit the work area. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to maneuver between growing spaces that are 24 inches apart. The employee must also be able to repeatedly carry 15-20 pounds the length of warehouse/cultivation facility.

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m (hours are subject to change).

ROLE SUMMARY
The IPM Technician I works in conjunction with the Cultivation Manager overseeing all Integrated Pest Management activities. This role is charged with monitoring and advising on crop health, identifying plant problems from pest/pathogen/environmental/cultural factors, while maintaining IPM program compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines. The candidate will track and advise on plant protectant inventory, be versed in different application methodologies including the calibration and application procedures of equipment, be knowledgeable about treatment through biological and chemical controls, able to identify fungal/entomological/bacterial pathology, maintain reporting and documentation of actions in IPM department, and managing small teams of personnel on daily and weekly goals
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify pest and pathogens and levels in the cultivation areas
- Monitor pest and pathogen levels, and update the cultivation area supervisors accordingly
- Monitor crop health in cultivation areas using a variety of tools and instrumentation
- Maintain and monitor beneficial organism populations and rates
- Develop, modify, and apply plant protectant treatment plans accordingly
- Keep careful track of weights and measures in plant protectant preparation
- Maintain clear records and logs, and ensures timely submission of all required records
- Report weekly and monthly KPIs and program tracking
- Maintain supply chain competitiveness, and new product discovery
- Attend required trainings to maintain commercial applicators license for pest category, and continuing expertise in IPM
- Maintain effective written and oral communication with Cultivation Manager
- Ensure teams are following standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects and following all safety protocols
- Identify insects, arthropods, vertebrates and other pests and create treatment plans based on physiology, as well as plant health and needs
- Measure area dimensions requiring treatment; calculates chemical requirements to address specific pest issues
- Collating all pest/pathogen scouting data, and evaluating their historical performance and seasonality
- Developing and monitoring work flows for daily and weekly goals
- Coordinate scheduling of work orders with Cultivation Manager
- Stay current on practices and all local, state and federal codes and regulations related to IPM in agriculture
- Ensure timely submission of all required records
- Implement quality standards; conducts and documents follow-up inspections
- Maintains effective written and oral communication with Cultivation Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. This job operates in a commercial horticulture environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, tight corners and workspaces. Extensive walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers and pollen producing environment. Work
time expectation: 60% of the time will be physical labor, 35% administrative functions, 5% training and misc.

ROLE SUMMARY

OVERVIEW
ROLE SUMMARY
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for contributing to all aspects of plant production, which include; trimming, transplanting, harvesting, processing and routine sanitation tasks. This position is self-sufficient, focused on obtaining results and requires the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision. You are responsible for completing the assigned tasks and maintaining the plants according to the provided company guidelines and standards.

- Transplant, Trellising, Staking, Harvest, Processing and Cultivation Sanitation.
- Responsible for defoliation techniques, such as veg trimming, lolli popping, maintenance, and harvest trimming.
- Examine plants for signs of pests or diseases.
- Maintain plant health throughout the cultivation process.
- Assist in production processes for designated stages of plant growth.
- Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area, all staging areas and facility at all times, including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
- Take instruction and assist with tasks delegated by the management team.
- Use, maintain, and operate equipment in the grow facility.
- Ensure the daily compliance policies are followed, but not limited to compliance with the state, security protocols, access protocols and dress code.
- Frequently lifts, carries, or positions objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a standard greenhouse and outside environment; regular exposure to working in confined areas, hazardous chemicals, dirt, dust, noise, fumes, and vapors; exposed to regular temperature and climate changes; extreme cold; extreme heat. seasonally subjected to adverse weather conditions when performing outdoor tasks. ROLE SUMMARY
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for contributing to all aspects of plant production, which include; trimming, transplanting, harvesting, processing and routine sanitation tasks. This position is self-sufficient, focused on obtaining results and requires the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision. - Transplant, Trellising, Staking, Harvest, Processing and Cultivation Sanitation.
- Responsible for defoliation techniques, such as veg trimming, lolli popping, maintenance, and harvest trimming.
- Examine plants for signs of pests or diseases.
- Maintain plant health throughout the cultivation process.
- Assist in production processes for designated stages of plant growth.
- Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area, all staging areas and facility at all times, including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
- Take instruction and assist with tasks delegated by the management team.
- Use, maintain, and operate equipment in the grow facility.
- Ensure the daily compliance policies are followed, but not limited to compliance with the state, security protocols, access protocols and dress code.
- Frequently lifts, carries, or positions objects weighing up to 55 pounds.

Full Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Cannabis Cultivator is responsible for contributing to all aspects of plant production, which include; trimming, transplanting, harvesting, processing and routine sanitation tasks. This position is self-sufficient, focused on obtaining results and requires the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision. You are responsible for completing the assigned tasks and maintaining the plants according to the provided company guidelines and standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transplant, Trellising, Staking, Harvest, Processing and Cultivation Sanitation.
- Responsible for defoliation techniques, such as veg trimming, lolli popping, maintenance, and harvest trimming.
- Examine plants for signs of pests or diseases.
- Maintain plant health throughout the cultivation process.
- Assist in production processes for designated stages of plant growth.
- Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area, all staging areas and facility at all times, including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
- Take instruction and assist with tasks delegated by the management team.
- Use, maintain, and operate equipment in the grow facility.
- Ensure the daily compliance policies are followed, but not limited to compliance with the state, security protocols, access protocols and dress code.
- Frequently lifts, carries, or positions objects weighing up to 55 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a standard greenhouse and outside environment; regular exposure to working in confined areas, hazardous chemicals, dirt, dust, noise, fumes, and vapors; exposed to regular temperature and climate changes; extreme cold; extreme heat. seasonally subjected to adverse weather conditions when performing outdoor tasks. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Working around heavy machinery such as forklifts and scissor-lifts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. {Must be able to individually lift to 55 lbs}. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

This position regularly requires long hours and may require weekend work.

REQUIRED SKILLS
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Relevant experience, training or education, such as professional experience in a nursery setting or other related work.
- Strong technical/analytical foundation and data driven.
- Strong background in plant science
- Operate with integrity and honesty.
- Experience in the horticulture or agriculture industry
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Ability to sit, stand for a long time, walk during the scheduled shift.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check. Must pass a drug screening.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
