Preferred qualifications would include:

- Previous experience analyzing the cannabis or alcohol industries, or any other sector with stringent ownership requirements between licensed entities

- CPA, MBA or CFA Certification(s)

- Ability to manage a subset of other reviewers

1. Overtime will not be required on a regular basis, however occasional overtime may be required to meet the Agency's needs as they arise (e.g. time sensitive project completion, priority deadlines, etc.).

Nature of Work: 8 Hrs Day Shift, M-F 9am-5:00pm

Duration: Full Time, Temporary, Anticipated duration of assignment is 18 months plus possible Extension

This position is responsible for complex accounting, supporting audit scheduled preparation, assisting with external surveys, and more. Essential Responsibilities of Accounting Manager

• Manage the month-end close process.
• Manage the general ledger reconciliation process, including the preparation and review of reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain procedural documentation for various accounting functions.
• Train and supervise staff in accounting functions.
• Collect appropriate data ad prepares federal, state, and local reports as required. May prepare and/or review tax reports, etc.
• Assist in reviewing and analyzing monthly financial statements and commentaries; in preparing budget schedules; preparing general and administrative budgets, involving business owners and General Managers.
• Design and maintain various required internal and external reports.
• Ensure compliance with US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal / state wage and hour rules, and other applicable regulations and company policies.
• May develop, maintain and update cost analysis models.

Qualifications for a CPA / Accountant

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years related management experience in business accounting, including supervisory experience.
• Principles of personal training, super vision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.
• Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications, and programs in position related area including detailed knowledge of accounting theory and practices, expert knowledge of general accounting practices (GAAP) and related applications and working knowledge of financial analysis and theory.
• Computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities (i.e., strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to, formula calculations, pivot tables, and other advanced analytical techniques.)
• Possession of a High School diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Current CPA License preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.

Under direction from the Principals, an accountant in this position will be responsible for closing client accounting records and assisting with financial statement preparation monthly. They must be able to multi-task as well as work independently with little supervision on many projects. Additionally, they must be able to work well as part of a team. Meeting deadlines is a must, so good time management skills are required.

Telework or working from home is not available during the probationary period.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Accounting or comparable subject.

- Recent Accounting Graduate a plus

- Signed up to take the CPA exam a plus.

- Excellent verbal and written skills.

- Excellent research techniques.

- Ability to multi-task, communicate and maintain relationship with clients.

- Excellent organizational skills.

- A willingness to diversify knowledge in specialized areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
