The Senior Accountant is responsible for general accounting activities and practices and participates in the review and appraisal of financial procedures and records. A day in the life for this role might include:
- Assisting the team in developing policies and procedures for all accounting activities and implementing new techniques and systems as needed
- Reconciling general ledgers and preparing and maintaining accounting schedules, making adjusting entries as required, preparing reporting as needed including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports as needed.
- Coordinating physical inventory counts and cycle counts, overseeing the process from A to Z by investigating variances and resolving issues as needed
- Collaborating across the business to support our co-manufacturing business line including supporting setup and reporting in collaboration with operations and accounting leadership
- In partnership with the broader accounting and finance team, support the Accounts Receivable function
- Provide cost accounting insight and leadership to the accounting and operations teams as needed
Qualifications

The Senior Accountant role is a fast-paced, challenging, hands-on position based at the Company's state-of-the-art Cannabis Manufacturing facility in Vernon, CA. Under the general supervision of Senior Management, and according to established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices, the Senior Accountant will perform full accounting functions with respect to the Company’s accounting, financial statements and account analysis. The ideal candidate for this position must have accounting experience in the Cannabis Manufacturing Industry. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full cycle of Accounting.
- Ensure that account activities are recorded, corrections are made, adjustments are calculated and journal entries are prepared.
- Review Financial Statements.
- Review and prepare month/year end reports, accrual schedules, prepayments, ad-hoc reports and analyses.
- Prepare and review Financial Audits and Tax Files.
- Prepare accurate Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Research accounting issues.
- Identify areas of improvement and introduce innovations to help corporate efficiency, organization and accuracy in accounting matters.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
