The Horticulturist is required to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled jobs in maintaining plant collections, both indoor and outdoor. Position requires knowledge of arboriculture, ornamental horticulture, irrigation maintenance and repair, and integrated pest management. Heavy equipment experience and Certified Arborist preferred.
- Install trees and shrubs, utilizing heavy equipment for large plant material
- Performs landscape construction, including building of retaining walls, paver installation, excavation and grading, drainage work, and irrigation installation

- Participates in educational programs related to Zoo Horticulture

JOB DESCRIPTION
To work as a team player with the day to day operations of the nursery that will include but not be limited to the following items:
Field, container plant and perennial installations based on practical layout, cultivations, inspections, maintenance, and harvest
Establish planting and digging schedules
Establish water requirements and set irrigation requirements and make necessary seasonal adjustments and repairs, installations
Fertilizer schedules and modifications
Pesticide management and applications
Seasonal pruning
Soil analysis and soil row replenishment using site soils and composted material
Equipment and machinery operation
Maintain and develop inventory lists, ongoing availability lists and price lists
Liner orders fall of each season based on sales history and inventory projections
Develop production schedules and forecasts, budgets
Facility management to promote organization, cleanliness and professional appearance
Maintain existing nutrient management plan
Assist with continued planned development of the farm
Recommendations on equipment needs and purchases
Consult with ownership and co-workers regarding daily operation and short and long term company goals
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants are to have received a horticulture degree from a reputable institution and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the industry. Applicants are to be proficient with MS office and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Summary: Candidate will work closely with the grow team to ensure the health, and consistency of care for each cannabis plant on a commercial scale.
Duties:
Candidate will assume all normal responsibilities of a grower including:
Preparing rooms to be populated with plants
Mixing Nutrients
Watering plants
Monitoring climate
Keeping tools grow areas clean and sterile

Maintain log of PH, PPM, IPM, and any other condition as required by the head grower.

Report any anomalies to head grower immediately
It is a major role of the candidate to make sure a strict schedule is adhered to as laid out by the head grower and cultivation manager. Schedule includes specific deadlines and dates for changes in light length and intensity, nutrient recipes, and climate as well as foliar and root drench applications.
Having a home garden of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Cloning plants by use of either traditional cloning, micropropagation, or tissue culture.
“Pheno hunting.†Tracking and selecting phenotypes based on quality, yield, and vigor.
Special Focus:
