ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES;
- Fan leaf removal, harvest, drying, trimming, curing, weighing, packaging, labeling, recording, inspection of product in addition to cleaning and sanitation
- Hand trim fan leaves from marijuana plants before harvest using shears, scissors
- Transport harvested plants to drying and hang to be dried
· Protects the quality of the product at all times
· Recognizes contamination – pests, seeds, dirt, mildew, etc – and handles them properly
· Cleans grow room for next harvest, including lights, when requested
· Cleans, sweeps and/or mops common work areas, harvest room
· Stays focused and on-task
· Cleans and maintains tools and equipment

JOB OVERVEW:
Grow Technician provides daily care of medical marijuana plants from planting to harvest, and from harvest to drying and processing the plants. During the cultivation season, the Grow Technician will provide quality care and attention to the growing process of the plants from clone to harvest which includes pruning, trimming, watering and providing nutrients while constantly monitoring plants for any signs of growing issues or problems; treatment for disease or infestation. The Grow Technician will assist with harvesting the plants and processing the plants through the hanging, curing and packaging of the plants. Detailed recordkeeping and strict adherence to the company’s policies, operating procedures and compliance with local, state and federal regulations (including safety rules/regulations) is essential for this position. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES;
- Daily care of marijuana plants, including potting, watering, pruning, harvesting, trimming and inspecting the plants.
- Fertilizing and providing nutrients to the plants according to cultivation protocols set forth by management.
- Transplanting rooted clones into coco
- Topping and pruning vegetative plants
- Taking cuttings from Mother plants and sticking cuttings into rockwool
- Pruning Mother plants according to cultivar and cloning needs
- Preparing grow media for clones and/or transplants
- Mixing and applying biostimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches
- Releases beneficial/predatory insects
- Irrigating by hand according to plants size and needs
- Following strict biosecurity protocols, maintaining sanitation of tools and person
- Cleaning tables, mopping floors, and filling footbaths with sanitation solution
- Standing/squatting/bending with arms extended for long periods of time
- Affixing METRC tags to plant lots and individual plants
- Scouting for and reporting any pests and pathogens (powdery mildew, botrytis)
- Applying trellis netting, training/manipulating branches to achieve a uniform canopy

The Cannabis Extraction Technician supports the preparation and execution of the extraction process. The Technician will assist in the formulation of approved cannabis products. - Performing duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
- Carrying out all extraction, extract processing, product formulation, filling and manufacturing procedures in an efficient manner that also complies with FDA GMPs, OSHA regulations and company SOPs.
- Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducting visual inspections to ensure all products meet or exceed company’s specifications and customers’ expectations. Such quality assurance work shall include but not be limited to:
- Recording and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking
- Running tests on analytical equipment
- Work with 3rd party laboratory on sample gathering and reporting.
- Continually striving to improve company’s processes for improved patient safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing
- Support new product and process development; work with R & D Department.
- Monitoring and managing lab and processing equipment supplies and inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
· At least one to three years of applicable medical cannabis or related extraction and formulating with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality.
· Experience with closed loop BHO (butane) systems and ethanol extraction preferred; including large scale production of batters, terp sugars, crumble, live resin, crude and shatter.

- Adhere to policies, procedures and reporting requirements for all relevant local, state (MRA) and federal food safety regulations

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science/Engineering or related field
- Three years' experience in the field of Food Science Product Development
- Experience in confection and chocolate technology preferred
- Experience with cannabis extracts, edibles production and different infusion techniques a plus
- Understanding of ingredient interactions/functionality
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment

ABOUT THIS ROLE
T-Rex 1 Corp, recently named Most Innovative Cannabis Producer in the Country by Leaflink, is seeking an innovative Food Scientist to provide technical expertise in the development and analysis of formulations for current and future products. The food scientist will create and improve quality, flavor, texture and packaging of cannabis edibles.

IN THIS JOB YOU WILL:
- Define the formulation for new products and conduct new product testing
- Lead and supervise new product start-ups from conception through launch
- Apply scientific methods through development stages, including the coordination of trials and conducting shelf-life studies
- Check raw ingredients for maturity and stability for processing, and finished products for safety and quality
- Develop new or improved ways of preserving, processing, packaging, storing and delivering edibles using knowledge of food science
- Study methods to improve aspects of edibles such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture and shelf life
- Study the structure and composition of edibles, and the changes edibles undergo in storage and processing
- Test new products for flavor, texture, shelf-life and adherence to government and industry standards
- Communicate with ingredient suppliers to source ingredient samples and documentation needed for formula development
