About the role

The Position
The Mission of this individual is to produce and supply our hotel and restaurant with fresh produce, herbs and flowers from a 18,000 square foot, glass greenhouse, plus surrounding open ground (one to two acres for vegetables, olives and grapes). Any additional production should be sold at local farmers’ markets. In addition, the Hotel property is about 20 acres in total, with extensive landscaping to care for.
This Colleague will require a decent technical agriculture and some business background. This individual will work with associated Colleagues in our commercial greenhouse operations, and other opportunities in the company as their abilities enable them. The company has other facilities which require landscaping expertise.
Qualifications
Elements of the Position
While we are not desiring a “manager†of people, this individual is accountable for managing and achieving their mission in conjunction with other Colleagues and achieving the highest possible operating and financial results for the assets at their disposal. Technical expertise is the first priority. Others can handle organizational activities if required. All aspects of product production are expected to be accomplished, including, but not limited to product variety selection, growing techniques, personnel, resource acquisition, facility operations and maintenance, information acquisition and analysis and marketing and sales. It will be your operation to make a go of it.
Compensation
We have nominal to no ability to train for the growing of these agricultural crops in greenhouses. Therefore, technical capability is required. Compensation and benefits provided will depend on the market for these capabilities, but somewhere in the range of $50,000 to $75,000 would be expected. We will entertain any arrangement which is mutually beneficial.
