What’s The Role About:
The Copywriter will help Puffco continue to build its brand and community, explaining complex technical concepts simply. We’re looking for an addition to our growing team who can build copy that goes beyond the specs to represent the value of our products to our customers.
The Senior Copywriter will play an integral part in leveling up the creative output. This role requires a true team player who is curious, insightful, creative, and can translate their abilities into successful storytelling around the Puffco brand. This position will report to the Director of Communications.
Some things you will be responsible for:
- Create on-brand copy for marketing assets including, but not limited to: marketing emails, social media, SMS, and website.
- Write for branded communications including ads, emails, events collateral, landing pages, video scripts, product marketing materials and more.
- Craft technical, high-quality copy for product packaging.
- Shape language and tone used in sales emails, banners, brochures and other sales materials.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to develop engaging and compelling creative ideas, concepts, stories and copy/content to achieve our marketing goals across different media.
- Write regular SEO-optimized blog posts and update/rework older blogs.
- Contribute ideas for content to be used on digital and social channels.
- Work with our internal creative team to develop copy for our product and campaign launches.
- Occasionally work with product and research teams on copy related to their projects.
- Edit and proofread writing of materials as needed.
- Maintain the highest standards for all copy, exercise quality control and ensure it adheres to our brand voice.
- Drive consistency and accuracy in written grammar, nomenclature, and formatting.
- Maintain timelines tied to content and launch calendar, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Some qualifications and skills we need you to have:
- 5-7+ years of technology and/or creative copywriting experience, cannabis experience a plus.
- A reliable self-starter who can handle multiple projects with minimal oversight.
- Ability to flex brand tone when applicable; you need to be able to adapt your voice to each project with extreme ease.
- Experience working independently and with a team on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Knowledge of basic SEO principles and how to incorporate them into compelling words for humans.
- Experience across creative expression and production: traditional, digital, social, experiential, product, and ideas that drive awareness.
