Main Purpose of Job
This position assists the Director in overseeing regulatory and compliance matters at the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. This position requires the ability to understand and interpret applicable statutes and regulations concerning medical cannabis. This position will provide research and analysis support to the Director and serve as a liaison to medical cannabis licensees and other stakeholders. This position will be primarily responsible for reviewing requests to transfer ownership or control of medical cannabis licenses, medical cannabis advertising for compliance with applicable statutes, and developing statutory and regulatory guidance materials for medical cannabis businesses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of professional health or human services experience, including two years of management or supervisory experience.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for 1 year of the required general experience. A juris doctorate degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for 2 years of the required general experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates should possess the following:
- Experience specific to medical cannabis, health care and/or public health policies, legislation, and regulatory compliance;
- Ability to analyze and understand complex corporate structures and prepare comprehensive reports detailing this information; and,
- Detail oriented, thorough, and ability to draft comprehensive, understandable reports.

Position Summary
The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures comply with all regulations governing the tobacco industry, as well as all ethical standards as required in the industry. This is a detail oriented and analytical role overseeing the work of junior level regulatory staff members and working alongside other company managers to communicate and oversee all necessary compliance.
Essential Functions
- Create and review all regulatory compliance documentation.
- Coordinate the creation, review, and implementation of policies and procedures resulting from new laws and regulations that impact the business interests and operations of the Company.
- Interpret audit and compliance requirements for business operations and communicate these requirements to the necessary leadership and team members.
- Work alongside Company leadership members to understand the objectives and goals of the organizations and provide insight on the regulatory and compliance framework that will impact those objectives and goals.

Under direction of the Director of Regulatory Compliance, provide regulatory guidance and ongoing regulatory compliance support to wholesale facilities related to new product development, and packaging and labeling.
Maintain regular dialog with the Quality & Compliance team, GTI R&D, and product brand & packaging teams and provide updates to upper management.
Liaison with on-site quality and compliance personnel on completion of monthly/quarterly/annual regulatory compliance reports and submit reports to the regulatory agencies to ensure each facility meets the state's deadlines on reporting requirements.
Become a proficient user of the company's document control system.
Assist with special projects as directed by the Director of Regulatory Compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist site Quality & Compliance team, as needed, to establish and maintain good rapport and communication with inspectors, state police and regulatory agencies.
Assist the Quality & Compliance team and new facility opening team to ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are in place to pass inspection by the cannabis regulatory agency for wholesale operations.
Assist the Quality & Compliance team, as requested, with submissions of variances, modifications, and alteration change requests to the regulatory agencies for approval.
Assist the Quality & Compliance team, as requested, with submission of updated plans and SOP changes to the regulatory agencies for review and approval.
Assist the Quality & Compliance team, as requested, with internal regulatory compliance audits to prepare the facility for regulatory inspection.
Assist the Quality & Compliance team with reviews of internal compliance audits/regulatory inspection reports to identify reoccurring compliance issues.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years CPG manufacturing compliance experience required.
FDA regulatory proficiency is a plus.
Knowledge of compliance in a highly regulated industry such as cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, or pharmaceuticals preferred.
Good communication is a must.
Project management skills to see tasks through to completion.

METRC is at the heart of our operation playing a vital role in our success.
Role consists of all actions necessary to maintain BCC Compliance, including, but not limited to, data entry, tagging, and peripheral tasks. The ideal candidate will be punctual, detail-oriented, willing to adapt and evolve with the role, and must be extremely trustworthy. This role is on-site position. Shifts typically stay in the range of 8 hours, 5 days per week (Monday – Friday). Some weekend and holiday shifts may be occasionally required. Knowledge of the operations of a vertically integrated cannabis microbusiness are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize Tagged Plants and Tagged Packages in grow space, storage, and in the METRC software.
- Oversee and execute Harvest and Manicuring Events in METRC software.
- Create and manage package tags from Harvest Events.
- Create, manage, and review all outgoing METRC Transfers, ensuring complete accuracy with the manifest and invoice for all sold product.

- Administrative support ranging from updating sales sheets, taking photos of harvested product, coordination of R&D testing, managing cultivation related product inventory, etc.
- Cultivation specific data retention regarding flowering cycles, cultivation plans and breeds, taking photos and documenting plant dates, flip dates, harvest dates, etc.
Skill Requirement:
- Knowledge of and experience with METRC system; 2 years.

Main Purpose of Job
This position assists the Director in overseeing regulatory and compliance matters at the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. This position requires the ability to understand and interpret applicable statutes and regulations concerning medical cannabis. This position will provide research and analysis support to the Director, and serve as a liaison to medical cannabis licensees and other stakeholders. This position will be primarily responsible for reviewing requests to transfer ownership or control of medical cannabis licenses, medical cannabis advertising for compliance with applicable statutes, and developing statutory and regulatory guidance materials for medical cannabis businesses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of professional health or human services experience, including two years of management or supervisory experience.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for 1 year of the required general experience. A juris doctorate degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for 2 years of the required general experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates should possess experience specific to medical cannabis, health care and/or public health policies, legislation, and regulatory compliance.

The Regulatory Compliance Manager will report to the Compliance Oversight Director as a member of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Department and is responsible for supporting the Nevada market's regulatory compliance environment to help ensure management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of state agencies. They are also responsible for evaluation of Company policies, procedures, and the verification that related practices are continuously in alignment with regulatory obligations.
The Regulatory Compliance Manager serves as the liaison with regulatory agencies.
Additionally, the position supports the mitigation of risk and remediation of issues by assisting with Incident Response and the execution of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for NV. The Regulatory Compliance Manager provides consultation and support regarding matters involving Risk Management and Compliance.
CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for identifying, interpreting, and helping to document all regulatory obligations that apply to the organization.
- Closely collaborate with state and local regulators by attending relevant meetings and coordinating all communication and requests to or from state and local regulators
- Work with GRC Leadership to help refine and establish policies, procedures, internal controls, and training programs necessary to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory obligations and effectively manage risk within the organization.
- Inspect all TAS work areas, products, and employee work habits to ensure everything adheres to all safety regulations; recommend changes to improve the safety of the workplace when necessary.
- Provide guidance to TAS and Parallel leadership regarding all aspects of compliance in the market.
- Maintain close and consistent relationships with all TAS teams to ensure exhaustive compliance with government and organizational regulations and policies.
- Design and implement programs to train staff on issues of workplace safety and operational compliance.
- Stay abreast of state and federal regulations, ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of all TAS policies and procedures. Update records as they change and submit the required notices to NV regulators.
- Facilitate informational meetings for employees regarding proper compliance, health, safety habits and procedures at work.
- Coordinate communication and implementation of corporate compliance policies and or initiatives with the TAS team.
- Identify health and safety hazards, as well as other areas of opportunities within operational compliance and recommend new systems, initiatives, and resources and corrective activities for those identified.
- Submit investigative reports detailing on-the-job accidents, as well as compliance, health, and safety matters.
- Lead special projects and assignments at the direction of the Compliance Oversight Director.
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Coursework and training in occupational safety requirements and OHSA guidelines is preferred.
- Certificate in Safety Management (CSM) is preferred.
