On the hemp side we sell bulk CBD crude to end-formulators nationwide ( vb-labs.com). We're in a new building that is well maintained and well lit with security cameras for 24 hour monitoring.
Our wiped film distillation capacity is 4 liters per hour. We have relationships with distribution companies and brokers and seek our own account executives selling directly to processors that use our distillate. We have some designs for retail products of our own but will take time to formulate the product itself - our focus is on bulk distillate. We do cryogenically cold ethanol extraction, decarboxylation, distillation, homogenizing, and spray drying processes. We also have an analytical HPLC to help with product formulation and verifying plant material from farmers.
We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who are comfortable on their feet working in the lab doing laboratory tasks most of the day. Familiarity with pumps, hoses, and connections is preferred. Cannabis experience is preferred. Comfortable on forklift is preferred. We need personnel to assist in operations such as
- putting plant material in the grinder, loading plant material into centrifuge bags, putting bag into the centrifuge, and putting the waste plant material into waste drums
- doing extraction/decarb/distillation processes - all things you can do and walk away from and be doing other things while the equipment runs
- cleaning glassware and stainless totes after various processes, cleaning the floors and lab area

About This Role

Responsibilities

· Continuously Refine Operations to Maximize Efficiency. A Facilities Tech must have the ability to learn, assist and help improve the facilities maintenance schedule and equipment specifications. - Abilities to add on components and enhancements to existing machinery, both mechanically and electrically
- Works closely with Maintenance Manager on Engineering and design improvements.

About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Facilities Tech will be responsible for working with the entire onsite team to keep the facility operating efficiently and effectively towards producing the highest quality, safest cannabis product with the greatest education at the lowest possible cost.
Reporting to the Facilities Lead, the Facilities Tech will be responsible with assisting the team for smooth operations of our outdoor grow at the Vandalia location. In this role, your responsibilities will encompass assisting with operational efficiency, work order completion, control systems & preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities

· Continuously Refine Operations to Maximize Efficiency. A Facilities Tech must have the ability to learn, assist and help improve the facilities maintenance schedule and equipment specifications. Support and delivery reliability and partner with your co-workers to create continuous improvement opportunities by assisting to refining/create work activity to drive efficiency into the manufacturing or delivery of services.
Primary duties include:
· Follow all safety policies while working safely in the facility environment. Actively promote and adopt the safety culture that all accidents are preventable
· Attend and support all training opportunities
· Sustain workload in a preventative maintenance plan and ensure good communication with outside contractors as required.
· Assist daily with facilities security needs
· Maintain a clean and 5S work area - adopt and promote the site Lean manufacturing adaptation
· Assist lead with special projects associated with building changes, including but not limited to construction, expansion, and reconfiguration.
· Assist lead on special projects (e.g., construction projects, equipment selection, cost-reductions)
· As you develop exhibit ownership of focus areas to support the team and culture of the facility
· Be part of the on - call rotation to assist the facility after hours and weekends
The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:
· Strong Mechanical and electrical background that exhibits troubleshooting skills
· Experience in facilities maintenance
· Background with operating (repairing is a plus) large equipment including a tractor, skidster, and forklifts.
· Working knowledge of a physical plant/manufacturing facility

Overview:
Mactec Packaging Technologies is seeking an Sr. Mechanical Technician to become an integral part of its team. The job function will be to perform in-house technical support, as well as being a field service technician. The position will require between 40% - 60% of travel to customer sites primarily in USA, and other regions of North America.
Mactec Packaging Technologies (www.mactecpackaging.com) is a leading manufacturer of blister packaging machines suitable for small scale production of pharmaceutical, cannabis, food, chemical testing, health and beauty products, R&D and clinical applications along with hospital unit dose packaging.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel up to 60% in support of installation, startup, and service of automated packaging machines
- Must be resourceful and able to work through mechanical issues with little to no supervision in a fast pace environment
- Troubleshoot/ modify PLC code, HMI code and servo code as well as modify PLC and HMI code under the direction of engineering.
- Perform FAT runs with customers to meet their specifications and perform trouble shooting
- Light machining of parts
- Ability to read/update schematic diagrams and BOMs
- Create documentation and detailed descriptions of the service trips
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a mechanical technician, preferably in packaging machinery or related industry
- Familiar with basic mechanical / electrical comprehension, assembly methods and procedures
- of packaging machines and systems
- Strong problem-solving skills in regard to automated packaging machinery
- PLC knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of CE wiring regulations
- Experience reading and following assembly drawings
- Experience and knowledge of Servos
- Knowledge of pneumatics
- Ability and willingness to be a team player
- LEAN manufacturing experience is a plus
- Basic knowledge of flexible unit dose packaging is a plus
