Job Summary
The Project Manager Commercialization leads the commercialization efforts of our national cannabis brands across markets. Manages all commercialization projects, including launching new products, brand awareness, and establishing brand commercialization in multiple markets simultaneously.
Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)
- Functions as the marketing PM lead for internal cross-functional team including Grow, Make, Retail, Supply Chain, and Sales.
- Develops and manages project scope, goals, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Identifies, mitigates and communicates project status and risks to the cross-functional team.
- Provides "Hands-on" project management skills to the Marketing team ensuring milestones and budget parameters are met.
- Manages multiple projects at once and identifies conflicting deadlines. Provides recommendations on resolution.
- Identifies opportunities to improve the commercialization process.
- Facilitates team decisions and arbitrates project roadblocks during team meetings.
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Link the ideation and NPI steps of product development to align with the Commercialization process
- Conduct post-launch evaluations to assess the success of the product launch and marketing initiatives prior to scaling into other markets
- Shepherds new projects through the multiple stages and gates of the NPI/NPD process, ensuring that all required information is communicated along the way.
- Creates project briefs at kickoff to ensure constant alignment with original project scope
- Sets KPIs and benchmarks for each stage of the development process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 years of Project Management experience
- PMP Certification
- Experience taking Brands & Consumer Good Products from idea through completion.
- Significant experience launching new product items or Brand Commercialization
- Skilled in interpersonal communications.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external team members.

Commercialization Project Manager
The Commercialization Project Manager will lead, collaborate and deliver the successful, and on time, execution of new product launches, in collaboration with the National Commercialization team. The ideal candidate will be able to see the big picture, while getting into the details and executing. This role is key to creating visibility throughout the organization around state-level product development processes and managing cross-functional stage-gate process from concept through launch. They will be a critical partner on information flow between state, regional, and national teams, ensuring projects launch successfully.
Responsibilities:
- Work with National Commercialization team and New Product Innovation Studio, and Regional and State cross-functional teams to drive product development process for commercialization, including new line extensions, benefit spaces, new formats, new categories and new markets.
- Collect, validate, and share information from regional teams, including, but not limited to: COGS, sales forecasts, state compliance details (where appropriate), pricing, product details, etc.
- Facilitate approvals from New Product Innovation Studio to regionals for consolidated feedback specific to region in an organized and clean manner
- Upkeep National and Regional Smartsheet data consistently so information is always up-to-date and clear
- Effectively communicate project expectations to regional and state team members and stakeholders, and lead project update meetings, maintain timelines, resource utilization, and prepare project reports.
- Communicate updates from National to Regional Leads and Teams as needed
- Review product asset bundles with an eye towards state nuances and updates needed prior to launch
- Ability to see the big picture of a project, while monitoring the effectiveness and contributions of the individual project functions.
- Communicate and work with cross-functional partners, leadership, and internal and external partners.
- Identify roadblocks and risks and recommend resolutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Serving as a key member on the team tasked with driving new product launch initiatives
- Acting as the central point of contact for all end-to-end activities related to the commercialization of a product (e.g., marketing, financial analysis, and demand forecasting)
- Supporting markets and teams cross-functionally in identifying and resolving process gaps while expediting deliverables
- Coordinating with functional leaders regarding the tactical execution of product commercialization (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Supply Chain, Distribution, Manufacturing and Retail and other groups across the organization)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU'LL BRING

- Prior track record of success in simultaneously managing and supporting multiple complex projects
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, capabilities, and processes – cannabis industry specifics and knowledge are a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent presentation capabilities
