As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Review of customer data to ensure its accuracy and compliance with the requirements of the quality management system; the reference method and standard operating procedure; and the customers’ requirements
- Provide feedback and mentoring to laboratory staff on observed deficiencies in the data, documentation or adhering to procedural requirements
- Comparison of multiple data sets to identify trends
- Uploading data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Utilizing LIMS to create sample and QC reports
- Verifying the accuracy of the reports

- Working collaboratively with team members to ensure final sample data meets all requirements
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications
Associates degree or B.S. Degree with some science background is helpful, but not required. On the job training is provided for all responsibilities of this position. Strict attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with a team are absolute requirements.
Laboratory Analysts:
Position Overview:
The laboratory analyst, depending on skill set, will perform sample receipt and log in, sample preparation, extractions and analysis using manual, automated and instrumental methods in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and recognized EPA/FDA/USP methods.
General Job Responsibilities:
Accepting and receiving samples for analysis
Sample pick up and drop off
Preparing and analyzing samples according to client and regulatory requirements in a very busy and fast-paced laboratory.
Preparing appropriate standards, reference materials and reagents
Properly and thoroughly documenting sample preparation
Calibrating, operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation
Maintaining instrument log books and run logs
Microbiology, Inorganic and Organic chemistry
Ensure appropriate testing procedures are conducted in compliance Standard Operating Procedures
Generate work lists, upload and enter data
Peer review of data for accuracy and compliance with QA/QC guidelines
Maintain and assure proper inventory of chemicals and supplies
Education and Experience:
Entry level analyst positions - BS/BA in Chemistry or related field is preferred.

Position RequirementsThe Laboratory Associate must be able to follow protocols and procedures, must be detail oriented and have a strong work ethic. The Laboratory Associate should enjoy learning new things.
The Laboratory Associate must be comfortable with and supportive of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Program.
Some travel may be required, mostly within Ohio.Must be able to pass FBI background check.Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.

The Institute of Food Safety & Defense (dba Praxis Laboratory) is a TTB certified and A2LA accredited quality assurance laboratory located in Centralia, Washington. Additionally, we are a growing I-502 certified lab that leads the cannabis industry in quality control, method development, and innovation. We are dedicated to practicing and providing the highest quality laboratory testing. We provide a wide array of quality assurance testing and analytical services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients.
What you’ll be doing:
- Client Acquisition: Research potential new clients, perform outreach sales calls, and cultivate new, long-lasting and rewarding relationships between IFSD/Praxis and our clients.
- Client Retention: Help retain current clients by answering sales questions, pitching new scientific analyses, and establishing an ongoing client rapport.
- Sales Approaches: Collaborate with the Chief Scientific Officer to determine strategic sales methods and avenues of opportunity.
What you bring:
- A sense of persistence, resilience, and compassion: Long-term client retention is an integral part of our culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills: Clients will need to have scientific testing methods explained non-technically.
- Background in science: Desired but not required; any experience in chemistry or microbiology is especially valuable.
- Previous sales experience: At least 1 year of sales experience is desired, but not required; previous scientific sales experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
