Highbrow is looking for a highly motivated, positive and compassionate Customer Sales and Service Consultant for our locations in Maine. The Customer Sales and Service Consultant is our customer's first connection when entering our locations and is responsible for many aspects of our customer’s experience. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, retail sales experience, constant desire for self-improvement and attention to details.
This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with Highbrow from the ground up. Highbrow is a full service, alternative medicine boutique that hosts an on-site medical cannabis caregiver, operating in full compliance with state and local law.
Responsibilities and Duties
The main responsibilities of the Customer Care Associate include interacting, educating, and advising customers face-to-face and on the phone, assisting with inventory, interacting with local service providers and recommending solutions to the customer.

- Basic inventory and cash management skills

Our Pharma Science division serves cannabis, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, and nutraceutical professionals in the U.S. and abroad involved with the development, clinical trials, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals through a portfolio of 10 publication brands and dozens of leading online products. Cannabis Science and Technology focuses on educating the legal cannabis industry about the science and technology of analytical testing, quality control/assurance, extraction, cultivation, and processing/manufacturing.
We seek an energetic, self-directed, detail-oriented associate editor for Cannabis Science and Technology. You will edit and help produce our print publication, monthly newsletters, news articles, digital publications, video, and other content. Requires the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The editor will also be responsible for editorial website operations for Cannabis Science and Technology, as well as all brand social media activities on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
Must have demonstrated competency in use of editing and proofreading skills to resolve stylistic, grammatical, and format issues of written material.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web Administration (40%)
- Post all editorial content for website into content management system, ensuring accurate spelling and style.
- Write weekly news stories for website
- Increase web traffic using search engine optimization best practices, as well as optimal keywords.
- Optimizes images via Photoshop for posting.
Editorial Duties (30%)
- Prepares and manages production of two monthly e-newsletters.
- Proofs/edits all material for website.
- Edit/proofread articles for print on an as-needed basis.
- Manage advertorial print pages such as application notes, supplier profiles, and product profiles; work directly with clients on obtaining materials and approvals for press.
- Contributes short articles on an as-needed basis.
- Performs other job duties as required.
- Attend training as needed.
Social Media Management (30%)
- Develops, creates, and schedules monthly calendar of all social media posts for marketing and editorial purposes.
- Maintains Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts for Cannabis Science and Technology and interacts to increase exposure and followers.
- Maintains LinkedIn Group, ensuring timely posting of new materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism and/or a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent grammar and proofreading abilities
- Must have superior organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects. Must be able to respond to competing priorities, workflow and client changes in a fast-paced environment, while still meeting due dates.
- Experience writing or editing in a publishing, public relations, or business setting a plus
- Experience with InCopy, Photoshop preferred
- Willing to travel
