The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Specialist provides support to the cultivation team. Primary duties include developing and implementing an approved pest management program, pest and disease identification, supervising preparation and application of pest control products, leading the IPM team, and ensuring all Claybourne approved cultivation workflows are followed, and maintaining regulatory and compliance records. This individual will manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, implement, and keep current an approved Integrated Pest Management plan.
- Demonstrate innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and recommending new processes, products, training opportunities or techniques that will increase plant health, lower costs, or improve skills ensure that.
- Ensure plant health is optimized in a way that allows every plant to achieve its maximum genetic potential.
- Coordinate all activities of the spray process including equipment, materials, training, monitoring, and problem solving.
- Develop, maintain, and report results from a scouting system in which problems are discovered and diagnosed early enough to implement effective control to keep pest pressure below an acceptable threshold.
- Ensure that all applications are completed in accordance with the label/ directions.

Beneficial Insectary is the largest commercial producer of predatory and parasitic arthropods in North America. Located in Northern California, most of the organisms sold by BI are produced at our facilities and are eligible for 48-hour shipping to ensure viability.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This opening is for a consultative sales position that requires up to 50% domestic travel establishing and maintaining business relationships with producers of a variety of crops as well as key wholesalers of company products. This position reports to the Director of Business Development.
IPM Specialists assist new and existing customers with choices regarding relevant organisms for their pest management goals. This includes assisting with selection and quantities of organisms along with suggested frequency of release for maintaining biocontrol programs in food, ornamental, and hemp/cannabis crops.
This position is located in the greater Denver, Colorado area or within a reasonable commute distance from the Denver International Airport (DEN).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
*Identifying and pursuing new distributor and direct sales via referrals from customer service, direct contact, or outreach via trade shows, conferences, conventions
*Providing pre- and post-sales guidance and support in selecting relevant products to fit the needs of the customer
*Liaising with existing commercial and wholesale clients to offer product support and advice
*Domestic travel (up to 50%) to visit key clients in designated territories as well as attend predetermined trade shows and conventions
*Contribute to ongoing maintenance of company literature and technical database
*Report weekly activities, visits, and contacts to sales manager on a regular basis to insure communication integrity
*Travel to home office in Redding, CA, 2-3 times a year for in-person meetings
