ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PAX is seeking a highly motivated Head of Field Sales, Colorado who will help shape and manage the direction of our Colorado sales team. This role will be the lead for how the PAX platform is presented in Colorado and will be accountable for growing the PAX platform in the state.
The ideal candidate loves being in the field, meeting with retailers and consumers, digging into data to identify opportunities, and coaching/mentoring team members.
About you… You have cannabis experience directing a sales team, managing to performance targets, and building distribution. You have a deep knowledge of the Colorado cannabis market and close relationships with a network of retailers. You love people and motivating a field sales and marketing team to achieve PAX's commercial targets and goals in Colorado.
$100-130k base salary + 25% bonus target, DOE
Responsibilities include:
Sales
- Help set targets, objectives and performance metrics for Colorado
- Incentivize and motivate the field sales team to execute on goals, objectives and metrics
- Own the development and implementation of sales programs that will attract new key accounts and enhance sales to current customers
Management
- Provide leadership to a team responsible for selling the company's products and services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts across regional market
- Manage all Field Sales Managers to meet regional sales goals
- Dotted line management of Field Marketing manager to meet regional sales goals
- Build and develop a "best-in-class" field sales team. In this capacity the Head of Field Sales will serve as a player/coach who leads and inspires others by their actions and engagement
- Cross-functional engagement with Commercial Strategy, Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Product to drive products, programs, and campaigns that align with your region's needs
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of sales experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Proven success hiring and training sales teams
- Deep knowledge of the Colorado cannabis industry and products
- Experience in fast-cycle businesses with complex product lines and a heavy technology innovation component
- Prior success in impacting the top and bottom line through creating successful sales strategies
- A proven track record of opportunity identification, problem-solving and taking initiative
- Proven ability to be successful in a less traditional or less hierarchical environment

The Opportunity
The Head of Field Sales will be responsible for leading Canopy’s national field sales organization across our markets in the United States.
As the Head of Field Sales, the successful candidate will be a key part of the senior commercial leadership team responsible for the creation and execution of Canopy’s U.S. commercial strategy. The successful candidate will be accountable for field sales performance, the profitable achievement of sales targets, and for aligning sales objectives with Canopy’s overall business strategy.
Developing strategy, structure and building the team will be a key priority for this entrepreneurial leader who exhibits passion for winning, and a track record for delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Align the field sales organization’s objectives with Canopy’s business objectives and ensure sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting is consistent with Canopy Growth’s ambition to be our customers first choice partner.
- Develop Canopy’s field sales organization including role definition and sales resource deployment – finding the right balance between centralized roles and regional or local leadership.
- Achieve revenue, market share and profit objectives as well as other key financial metrics and sales specific performance indicators
- Develop field sales capabilities and L&D programs to ensure the organization has the knowledge and tools to excel in the marketplace.
- Establish the field sales organizations performance management system including principles for performance, establishing performance objectives for each role and ensure all key sales individuals are held accountable for delivering results.
- Provide leadership to the sales organization, while developing a culture of accountability and cross functional collaboration.
- Accountable for establishing and delivering against sales budgets across salaries and benefits, travel and expenses, and trade spend.
- Lead sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the evolving requirements of the business and being a champion of change within the organization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners and internal business partners.

Experience
- A proven senior commercial leader with broad experience across sales and sales leadership

- Experience working with retailers, partners and across multiple sales channels
- Experience in Beverage Alcohol or relatable industries an asset.
- An insatiable curiosity of what makes customers tick and the ability to turn that curiosity into insight and business solutions
