PT Curriculum Developer, Cannabis Program

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
North Shore Community College invites applications for a motivated learner-focused professional to develop and teach three courses in a new Cannabis Certificate program. These courses and certificate program will be offered within the existing Horticulture Department in the STEM and Business Division. Topics for these courses may include: Cannabis Law and Regulatory Environment, Cannabis Cultivation
Methods, and Post-Harvest Product Management and Manufacturing. The selected applicant will work closely with college personnel and representatives of the regional Cannabis industry to build courses for our program that address the needs of students and regional employers.
This is a part-time position for the development of these courses with the potential to be added to North Shore Community College's adjunct faculty. The courses are expected to be offered at North Shore Community College in the Fall semester of 2023.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new courses for the North Shore Community College Cannabis Certificate program including:
- Written Catalog Description
- Development of Student Learning Outcomes
- Proposal for Textbook or course material selection
- Development of Topical Outline
- Development of course syllabi
- Proposed Assessment and Grading policies
- Write and edit clear, thoughtful lesson plans.
- Respond to editorial feedback in a professional manner
- Meet assigned deadlines and quality standards for NSCC courses
- Embrace the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and support the equal rights of all people by advancing the understanding and appreciation of differences including age, race, gender, ability, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.
Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field. Master's degree preferred.
- Broad experience-based knowledge in the cannabis industry either through industry-related work or academic study
- College teaching experience preferred
- Evidence of commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:
Candidates for employment should be aware that all North Shore Community College students, faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated by January, 2022. Stautzenberger College is looking for a highly motivated, learner focused, cannabis professional to develop five diploma and four associates courses for new online cannabis programs. Knowledge of the cannabis industry (3-5 years’ experience preferred), including industry regulations and compliance, state and federal laws, cultivation and production, genetics, and extraction required.
