Olive-Harvey College is looking for a Director of Student Developent Projects. The Director will be responsible for administering multiple grant programs. These grants provide quality training and educational opportunities at no cost to eligible residents that prepares them for careers and employment in the cannabis and green job sectors. As the program administrator, the Director of Student Development Projects directs the program’s day to day operations, ensuring the grant partnership agreement’s scope of services are effectively implemented and that its reporting requirements are fully met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Directs program’s day to day operations, ensuring partnership agreement’s scope of services are effectively implemented and reporting requirements are fully met.
- Coordinates with vendors providing direct services to prospective and enrolled "Still I Rise" students, including conducting informational sessions, providing outreach and follow-up, and field practicum coordination.
- Coordinates unit’s work efforts with academic advisors to provide "Still I Rise" students with the support services needed to enroll, progress academically, and successfully complete educational and training programs.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders (i.e. Marketing Department, Finance) in managing and overseeing the program’s marketing, compliance and financial reporting, and grant budgeting functions.
- Oversees the provision of vouchers to "Still I Rise" students for tuition and supportive services. Works with Finance and Procurement to prepare annual purchase orders.
- Prepares and reviews detailed monthly invoices for reimbursement of tuition and other reimbursable costs.
- Reconciles student vouchers against student financial accounts in collaboration with the Business Office.
- Prepares required funding reports detailing the program’s operations, status of enrolled students, and budget expenditures.
- Participates in meetings regarding the program’s budget and its operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of work experience in administering a program(s) for a non-profit, social services, government or educational organization.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, resource development or grant writing
- A combination of education and experience maybe taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR - CANNABIS DISPENSARY OPERATIONS

Olive-Harvey College is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach “Cannabis Dispensary Operations”. The Cannabis Dispensary Operations course will cover logistic concepts including transportation, inventory, packaging, warehousing, materials handling, order processing, safety protocol and facility location. The Dispensary Operations certificate prepares students to work in a licensed cannabis dispensary. This course is a part of the basic certificate program aligned to the Dispensary Operations Basic Certificate. Students will acquire skills to interact with and educate cannabis clients in a regulated environment and the foundational knowledge to pursue additional careers in the cannabis industry.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare and deliver personalized instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
Revise, and continually update curriculum and instructional materials with the evolving industry
Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students.
Post syllabi and grades on Brighspace and submit grades to the Department each semester.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree considered
Familiarity with and understanding of Illinois Medicinal and Adult-Use cannabis laws and regulations
At least 1 year of work experience in the cannabis industry, dispensary experience preferred
Awareness of dispensary operations and cultivation processing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong classroom management skills
2 years teaching experience preferred
Online teaching experience preferred
Certification: Responsible Vendor Training

Olive-Harvey College has developed an Urban Agriculture Department to serve as Chicago’s leading partner for cannabis and urban agriculture education and a gateway to careers in the cannabis industry. Plans include establishing a Cannabis Research Institute to serve as a hub for cannabis product research in partnership with area universities and completion of a campus greenhouse with a cultivation lab to provide a broader workplace training platform and to support equitable industry access and community mobility through education. Reporting to the Executive Dean for Urban Agriculture, the College Administrative Assistant will perform administrative, personnel and or fiscal services in a college administrative unit; and performs related duties as required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs and oversees the performance of the personnel functions for the college administration.
- Performs calculations and compiles pertinent data required for budgetary and fiscal reports; assists in the preparation of budgets and the allocation of program funds.
- Maintains a liaison between administration, faculty and students.
- Composes correspondence and assists in the formulation of personnel practices and procedures.
- Reviews material, supply and equipment requisitions and prepares expense vouchers.
- Conducts studies to improve the efficiency of the operations within an organizational unit.
- May assist in the interview process of applicants for clerical staff positions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent is required; two years of college supplemented by at least two years of progressively responsible clerical and administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training or experience.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration. Considerable knowledge of department practices and procedures. Good knowledge of general office computer software.
- Ability to work and interact with the general public and college personnel. Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to plan, assign and supervise administrative and clerical tasks.
