Job Summary:
The Packaging Manager shall comply with all state and local laws and company SOPs, policies, codes of conduct, and emergency and safety procedures. Creation of finished products. Conducts all packaging procedures and processes. Direct, maintain, and oversee execution in all areas of the packaging department, which includes safety, productivity, packaging, schedule, quality, process improvements. Develops and executes departmental management improvement plans to exceed company expectations and MIP guidelines. Direct and supervise subordinates, providing feedback to subordinates to further improve the precision of the team. Collaborates with the Lab Operations Manager to provide the best variety of products for retail locations.

Essential/Primary Responsibilities:
- Regular communication with the Management Team is to be maintained to ensure all operational needs are met and any procedural problems are addressed and resolved proactively.
- Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance to specification by ensuring proper manufacturing, packaging, labeling and production documentation.
- Management of enterprise resource planning program for the packaging departments, ensuring accuracy of information entered into the system

Experience / Knowledge Required:
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
- Commercial cannabis laboratory experience is preferred.
- MED Packaging regulations and new compliance laws that relate to this field.
- Colorado MED Key Badge.
- Must be able to operate analytical instruments and analyze data.
- ServSafe certified. (We can help provide certification)
- College degree or an equivalent level of education and experience
- Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.
- Advanced METRC experience
- ERP user experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal procedures, practices, and communication protocols as required by regulation.
- Adheres to cGMP, GLP, HIPAA, and FIPA compliance standards. Implements Standard Operating Procedures for quality and packaging related topics.
- Complete and maintain logs and other required paperwork.
- Responsible for detailed product knowledge, processing time and vendor policies.
- Assist the Compliance Manager to ensure compliant application of State and local laws governing all aspects of production, product processing, packaging and distribution.
- Supervise and direct the activities of assigned staff, follow company SOPs.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds in repetition as some shipments will be heavy.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Accommodations can be made if necessary.
- Perform other official duties as assigned.

Packaging Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains, reviews, tracks packaging throughput of finished product by day.
- Maintains inventory of items needed for packaging. Working with the Operations Manager if support is needed.
- Ensures accuracy of ERP information entered by subordinates.
- Oversee product labeling and packaging.
- Create product labels, review proofs and specifications for consumables and concentrates.
- Sets Daily Goals for the packaging team, coordinating with Fulfillment Manager to ensure stores needs are met.

Fulfillment Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains, reviews, tracks and archives all product related controlled documents, etc.
- Quality checking packaged goods.
- Provide feedback to Operations Manager on how to increase the precision of the packaging department.

- Assist in the management of day-to-day operations of packaging and deliveries.
- Data entry and oversight of METRC reconciliations.

What You'll Do:
- Manage book of business (dispensary accounts) and make productive contact with existing clients to grow business through establishing Consultative Sales Process
- Execute "5 Ways to Sell" and implement proven methodologies with all accounts
- Connect through multiple customer touchpoints—Owners, Managers, Buyers and Retail Associates (budtenders)
- Build rapport to drive business at all levels, customer sizes, and types
- Utilize all available resources to reach out to generate new leads/prospects and turn those prospects into customers
- Leverage company tools: Salesforce CRM, Microsoft NAV, Google Mail & Apps to make our business more efficient and effective
- Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth.
- Follow all state, local, and company rules and ensure conformance to all laws
- Collaborate with the management team to expand and defend the company's leadership position in the Nevada marketplace

Job Duties:
- Oversee production by creating and reviewing production schedule; study and clarify specifications; calculate requirements; assemble and accurately weigh materials and supplies
- QA/QC duties that require analytical testing for quality and consistency; data review
- Operate highly sophisticated equipment; process concentrates
- Clean and maintain equipment and laboratory facility following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; comply with legal regulations; monitor environment
- Operate, maintain, and make adjustments and repairs to laboratory equipment such as liquid chromatography systems, pumps, microscopes, balances, centrifuges, and other laboratory equipment
- Maintain inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment
- Maintain and stock supplies and equipment, dispose of waste according to guidelines, and keep laboratory, storerooms and working areas immaculate
- Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware
- Create SOPs, training records, and related documentation
- Maintain material safety data sheets for all department chemicals and products
Compliance:
- Ensure processing operation is fully compliant with state regulations and federal and state law
- Assure that operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements
- Maintain strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals and equipment used in the laboratory and documents production by completing forms, reports, logs and records
Requirements:
- Preferred BS/BA Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering (mechanical/Systems) OR Chemical Engineering
- MS Dynamics ERP systems knowledge or similar
- 3+ yrs. experience managing production operations
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Must obtain a MED Badge before first day of employment
Skills:
- Able to process samples by collection, preparing for analysis, and quantifying results
- Familiar use of a wide range of pipettes and knowing their volume capabilities
- Health and safety practices and precautions applicable to a manufacturing environment
