Seeking an experienced accountant / full charge bookkeeper to work in our cannabis extraction and processing lab located in San Francisco. The potential candidate will be responsible for general accounting functions including general ledger and financial reporting. This position reports to the CFO.

Job duties:

Prepare and post customer invoices and cash receipts;

Full accounts payable processing;

Month end tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and reporting;

Periodic reconciliation of accounting data with METRC Track & Trace Systems;

Periodic inventory reconciliation

Ability to resolve any conflict respectfully and in a timely manner, addressing and resolving problems in order to create a culture of engagement and high-performance.

Other miscellaneous administrative or accounting tasks as necessary

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience

Quickbooks and Microsoft Office experience;

Experience with MRP systems

Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills

Strong work ethic

Attention to detail

Ability to work alone or with others

Ability to follow instructions and protocols

Time management skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and/ or holidays

Our work environment is remote and allows employees autonomy to choose when they work and where they do their work. We will train in the specifics of cannabis accounting, but there may also be work with non-cannabis clients as well.

We are looking for someone with the following areas of experience:

• Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis

• Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner

• Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments

• Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition

• Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data

• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards

• 3-5 years at least relevant experience in bookkeeping

• Quickbooks Online experience

• Google Drive experience a plus

• Experience with accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger

• High degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail

• We are hands off company, but expect quality work. Working remotely requires strong self motivation - self starters are a must!

Cannabis cultivation business is seeking a full charge bookkeeper/accountant. Looking for someone who is well organized, experienced, and looking to help build a company from the ground up. We are seeking a knowledgeable self-starter, who will take ownership of responsibilities, and assist in working directly with the principals to build systems and scale up a young dynamic business.

Bookkeeper will be responsible for:

• Handling all bookkeeping day-to-day tasks; from top to bottom for small business bookkeeping.
• Managing sales orders, invoices, payments and reconciliations.
• Managing all A/R, A/P, payroll, and taxes (sales tax, excise tax, payroll taxes).
• On monthly, quarterly and annual basis, financial reporting for the owners of the company and department heads: profit and loss, balance sheet, budget vs. actual, sales, A/R aging and A/P aging.
• Preparing bank deposits and conduct bank reconciliations.
• Managing A/P, including accurate vendor management, annual 1099 reporting process, and vendor invoices.
• Maintain employee tax withhold accounts and payment.
• Monthly sales tax and excise tax filing.

Seeking someone with QuickBooks (QB Online specifically) and Excel experience. Candidate should be attentive to detail and organized, as well as flexible, focused and responsive. Must be self-sufficient and able to work unsupervised.

• Must be able to pass the background check and obtain an MED work badge.
• Must have some experience in accounting for manufacturing and inventory businesses.

Education:

• 4-year University or College degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Highly Preferred, not required)
• High school or equivalent (Required)
