What You Will Be Doing:
Papa & Barkley is currently looking for an experienced, passionate, and creative Marketing Brand Manager to join our dynamic, high-growth cannabis company. This position will be fully remote (with in-person needs in the Los Angeles area) reporting directly to the SVP Marketing & Ecommerce.
The Marketing Brand Manager in this role will lead the development of innovative strategies and go-to-market plans for both new launches and core businesses to drive brand growth. Key responsibilities include developing innovation ideas through trend, competitive and category analyses, writing product copy and concepts, coordinating key product launch information, and executing marketing campaigns including in-store retail marketing initiatives. This role is an opportunity for a proactive, self-motivated individual to use both creative and analytical skills to drive the new Papa & Barkley product pipeline and lead campaign executions from concept to launch.
- Compile consumer, creative and product trends in cannabis and wellness categories
- Analyze category and competitive performance on an ongoing basis.
- Lead the evaluation and prioritization of new products
- Help to oversee the new product development process, mentoring the team, driving decision-making and instilling a sense of urgency
- Help to coordinate key product tracking documents and calendars
- Create vision for product packaging and work with creative on package development. Oversee artwork process including reviewing and approving artwork
- Brief and create integrated consumer campaigns for new launches and key core products including messaging, hero assets, in-store activations, digital executions, educational materials and more.
- Work closely with agency partners to execute breakthrough consumer communications across all touchpoints
Qualities You Should Have:
- BS degree in Marketing or relevant field preferred
- 5+ years of previous brand management or marketing experience, preferably within cannabis and/or consumer packaged goods space
- History of conducting and analyzing market research
- Have a strong passion for cannabis and the health and wellness space.
- Experience briefing and managing external agencies.
- Proactive individual with the ability to self-manage projects and overcome obstacles independently.
- Successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- PC expertise (Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, Powerpoint)
- Excellent multitasking and time-management skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel required

Brand Marketing Manager: Cannabis Industry
Location: The role can be based in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, OK. or Fayetteville, AK.

RedBird Bioscience (Redbird) is seeking a top-tier Brand Marketing Manager to join our team and lead the brand development efforts for the RedBird brand as well as support the portfolio of cannabis brands the Company produces and distributes for its trade partners.
The position, reporting to the COO, will help build brand equity across this portfolio of cannabis brands utilizing a pragmatic and structured approach leveraging experience gained in a leading CPG, beauty products or similar organization. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the marketing (cycle) plan, including promotional activities, as well as the managing the corresponding budgets.
The candidate should be creative in terms of gaining consumer insights, testing concepts, receiving and integrating sales team feedback from retail and other sources into the marketing mix (i.e., create an environment of constant learning and improvement). This is unique opportunity utilize your talents in an environment where you will control the development and evolution of brands in a rapidly growing sector which is totally contestable!
The Role
Leverage consumer and market insights and marketing expertise to successfully identify, develop and execute marketing plans for new products and brand campaigns including product architecture, product launch process and go-to-market strategy.
Conduct regular, strategic business reviews to analyze trends, category performance, and identify opportunity areas and present recommendations to the leadership team and trade partners.
Forecast and monitor sell-in and sell-through to meet and/or react to business needs.
Work closely with the Company’s trade partners on the development and execution of their brand strategies and promotions (as a true business partner).
Support the development and execution of the Company’s social media strategy.
Leverage data to inform decision-making for strategy development and adjustments as necessary.
Your Skills
- 5+ years relevant marketing experience in a top CPG/food/alcohol/beauty industry or similar organization strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of retail and how to influence the purchasing decision at the point of sale.
- Possess a solid grasp of packaging, and “through the line” design and promotional techniques.
- Strong organization, planning, and creative thinking skills with the ability to manage to tight deadlines.
- Highly entrepreneurial, passionately curious, willingness to roll up your sleeves with a “whatever it takes” mentality.
- A collaborative and engaging management style (“we” win as a team) with a good sense of humor strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and agile environment.
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite; must be able to create engaging reports and presentations.
- Educational Degree(s) – Bachelor’s level degree from an accredited university (preferably in Marketing), MBA preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.
