Job Title: Cultivation Team Lead
Department: Cultivation
Reports to: Site Administrator
FLSA Status: Regular- Non-Exempt

Role Summary:
The Cultivation Team Lead is responsible for the oversight of 4 to 8 employees depending upon the department, the lead will ensure company policies are followed, all employees under are properly trained and performing assigned job functions per company standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all employees are aware and adhere to the company’s Uniform and Attendance policies
- Ensure all employees receive proper training for the task at hand and the tasks are being completed accordingly to the SOP’s
- Answers and responds to all question’s employees have regarding job functions
- Performs daily team meetings with team to go over assignments for the day
- Ensure work areas are kept clean on daily basis
- Complete daily Employee Assessment logs in SharePoint
- Complete daily Room Logs in SharePoint
- Ensure all IPM logs, PPM, PH logs, and Calendars in the grow rooms are fill out daily in proper format
- Make sure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated as needed
- Inventory control, ensures order request forms are submitted on weekly basis
- Reports to management on regular basis with updates, problems, or comments
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a strong understanding of plant nutrients and their deficiencies
- Experience growing cannabis in different environments with various techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing, and challenging environment
- Strong understanding of common grow room equipment including electrical systems, lights/light bulbs, timers, irrigation systems, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and plumbing
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

WORK SCHEDULE:

What we grow:
Our Greenhouse Growers will learn the skills necessary for assisting with all aspects of the Alaska Seeds of Change hydroponic greenhouse and vocational program. Our greenhouse currently grows different herbs and types of lettuce using hydroponic towers such as basil, chives, lettuce, kale, dill, chervil, swiss chard, bok choy, mint, and strawberries. During the outdoor growing season, we grow vegetables including squash, tomatoes, and cabbage alongside our building and in the community.
Our fresh produce is harvested the same day it is delivered to stores, restaurants and farmer’s markets.

Lead Greenhouse Grower
Alaska Seeds of Change, a division of Alaska Behavior Health, is a hydroponic growing facility employing young people ages 16 to 24 providing them with the life skills needed to succeed in the future. We are seeking applicants for a full-time Lead Greenhouse Grower to serve as a core member of the growing team. Employees in this position will be provided with orientation training and a minimum of one hour a week of continuing on-the-job, computer-based, or interactive trainings in various skills domains. They will learn the skills necessary for assisting with all aspects of the Seeds of Change hydroponic greenhouse including, but not limited to: planting seeds; transplanting plants; maintaining growing equipment; monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on plant growth and health; harvesting and packaging products; delivery of product and direct-to-consumer sales; marketing; business operation; and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the growing environment. They will also learn the skills necessary to help run and develop the Seeds of Change vocational training program including, but not limited to: interviewing, onboarding, and training youth staff and apprentices; providing basic administrative and IT support; participating in and facilitating team meetings; and assisting with data-tracking and other fundraising and capacity-building duties. Prior farming and/or gardening experience and leadership experience is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the capability and interest in conducting research; provide examples of their written work; display an interest and ability to learn new skills; and possess basic computer skills. Physical requirements are the ability to lift 50 pounds and the ability to work in conditions warmer than normal. Salary range is $16.56 to $20.46 per hour depending on experience. The Production Greenhouse Lead will generally own all tasks related to execution in a 22k sq ft perpetually flowering greenhouse facility. The Greenhouse Lead will manage line-level team members to complete scheduled tasks in coordination with the site Production Manager and the Horticultural Production Manager. The facility consists of two vegitative bays, four flowering bays, and a temporary dry room.
