THIS IS AN OPIOID USE DISORDER CLINIC
Must be a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner-ARNP, Physician Assistant, or Licensed Pharmacist, and have a current Washington State License in his/her field.
Evergreen Treatment Services has been offering medication assisted treatment for adults with opioid use disorders in our federally accredited opioid treatment programs (OTP) since 1973. The dispensary serves as the heartbeat of the OTP since patients new to the program must travel to the clinic six days per week to be assessed for the appropriateness of their medication on any given day and then consume it in front of the dispensary nursing staff. Nursing staff are the front-line contact with our patients and are instrumental in developing a positive therapeutic relationship with each one. Our nurses interface extensively with the medical staff (PA-Cs and ARNPs), the counseling staff (all certified Substance Use Disorder Professionals, many with advanced degrees), and other support staff in the clinics. Nurses provide valuable insight into possible therapeutic interventions for patients who have difficulty stabilizing their opioid use disorder and are rewarded by the positive visible and cognitive changes exhibited by patients who become stable.
The Dispensary Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Opioid Treatment Program Dispensary and nursing staff for all clinic sights. They will coordinate with the Director of Nursing to manage the medication inventory and ensure that the therapeutic milieu in the Dispensary is consistent with program philosophy. This position will work in tandem with Clinic Operations Managers to ensure that the flow of patient care at each site is efficient and meets ETS brand standards.
This position must maintain the highest level of safety, efficiency and overall functioning of the dispensaries and best serving the agency’s patients. The nature of this position is fast-paced and requires frequent conflict resolution and flexibility.
Job Functions

2. Share the responsibility of the operations and security protocols in the dispensaries with the agency Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and Clinic Operations Manager.
3. Coordinate and work with the Director of Nursing regarding the following:
2.a Continually evaluate the needs and effectiveness of current dispensary practices including: ordering medications, dispensing, accurately executing medication orders, maintenance of medication records and destruction of medications.
2.b Maintain accurate records of all transactions of the dispensary necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
2.c Assist with any inspection conducted by the Washington Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (PQAC) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) at the request of the Responsible Pharmacist Manager, Medical Director or CEO.
2.d Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Clinic Managers at all ETS OTP locations to ensure consistency of procedures across the sites. Assist all sites with trouble-shooting dispensary process at needed.
2.e Maintain proper storage and records for destruction. Complete weekly combination of small destruction bottles into large destruction holding bottle.
2.f Perform quarterly audits at all sites in collaboration with Quality Improvement & Risk Management.
3. Serve as a liaison with other clinic departments.
4. Ensure all equipment is in working order and properly maintained and calibrated: breathalyzers and dispensing pumps.
5. Ensure Dispensary Compliance & Operations Manuals are current in coordination with Director of Nursing and Nurse Coordinator.
6. Ensure all posted licenses are current in each dispensary.
7. Work in collaboration with EMR system representatives and Director of Nursing to ensure EMR works according to agency needs.
8. Make necessary patient changes in EMR system.
9. Ensure that each dispensary is adequately staffed. Complete the schedule for the nursing staff of all clinics. Provide backup for any staffing shortage.
10. Assist in dispensing services when needed and maintain dosing competency.
11. Provide conflict resolution between Dispensary staff, other department staff, or patients.
12. Ensure strong staff team cohesion and collaboration.
13. Serve as liaison between the Dispensary and other clinic site departments as needed.
14. Participate in site Clinic Manager Team meetings and represent the interests of staff.
15. Manage time sheets, approve payroll timely and approve leave requests in reference to scheduling needs.
16. Conduct performance evaluations of dispensary staff in accordance with agency policies and state regulations in collaboration with Nurse Supervisors.
17. Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training of Dispensary nurse staff.
18. Work with Human Resources and Director of Nursing regarding staff training, recognition, and performance management.
19. Local travel may be required on behalf of the agency.
20. Additional duties as assigned.
. Requirements:Education
Must be a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner-ARNP, Physician Assistant, or Licensed Pharmacist, and have a current Washington State License in his/her field.
Experience
1. Required: must have previous management experience. Able to lead and motivate a team to perform at their highest level while recognizing each member as individuals with differing skill levels.
2. Preferred, not required: Prior experience in an Opioid Treatment Program.
3. Knowledge of medications used in MOUD.
4. Strong mentoring and coaching skills to assist Supervisors in leading their team.
Knowledge Requirements
1. Knowledge of all federal and state regulations pertaining to the storage, ordering and dispensing of scheduled substances.
2. High Aptitude for staff management.
3. Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records systems, as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change.
4. Ability to prioritize workload and activities of self and others and follow through on assigned tasks to assure completion in a timely manner.
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and switch between tasks quickly.
