Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing patient care, providing quality assurance, maintaining infection control, administering regulatory compliance and preserving fiscal stability. The Office of Clinical Operations is an integral part of the School and their primary mission is to provide the highest quality education and training to students and to provide the highest quality dental treatment available for patients.
Position Summary
The Dispensary Coordinator will manage the daily purchasing of materials for the student clinic dispensaries, Dental Faculty Practice, and graduate clinics. Receive all purchases while documenting status and ensuring proper disposition. Record and manage all inventory details in the provided inventory control software. Communicate with the Materials Manager and dispensary staff about all aspects of the materials procurement. Always apply strict attention to detail when processing transactions and ensure the accuracy of record keeping. Provide training support for all dispensary technicians. Assist Materials Manager in assessing workflow and processes with the goal to make improvements as needed. Utilizing barcode scanners, inventory software applications, Epic, and Microsoft Office applications to complete daily work.
Provide backup coverage in the dispensaries and Dental Storeroom. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting students, staff, and faculty to provide materials they will use while treating patients in the pre-doctoral student clinics, processing soiled instruments and preparing them for sterilization, and organizing and managing inventory within the dispensary. Receiving and filling storeroom orders. Working with the storeroom team to purchase materials and monitor storeroom inventory.
Assist In purchasing, inventory management, administrative, and operational support in the other areas of Clinical Operations (CVL, CSU, the Implant Center, and the Center for Digital Innovation). Provide coverage for absences and during peak workloads.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Physical Effort: Lifting of material up to 35Ibs is routine. Extended periods of standing and reaching. Maneuvering inventory carts weighing up to 200 pounds is routine.
Visual Attention, Mental Concentration, and Manipulative Skills: Critical when ordering materials (catalog number, unit price, total amount, shipping address, delivery dates, etc.). Critical when preparing items for sterilization, sterilizing materials, and distributing items for patient care.
Safety for others: Issued materials must be examined and determined to be in a safe and operational condition for patient safety and staff safety for infection control. The work environment must adhere to all EOE and OSHA policies and procedures specific to the different areas to insure the safety of staff. Adherence to HIPAA is crucial in order to avoid costly and lengthy litigation.

Position Summary
The Dispensary Technician is responsible for utilizing good customer service techniques while providing materials to students, staff, and faculty at the Student Clinic Dispensaries within the Adams School of Dentistry. They are responsible for utilizing inventory tracking software and barcode systems to manage all stages of the inventory process for all materials within the dispensaries. The dispensary technicians will be responsible for managing inventory, utilizing reporting, and communicating with members of their team any inventory concerns they may have. It is vital that the dispensary technicians are flexible and willing to work as a team to create solutions for every opportunity that is encountered at the Student Clinic Dispensaries. The Dispensary Technician will provide occasional cross coverage in the Contract Vendor Lab (CVL), Implant Center, Center for Digital Innovation, pre-clinical labs, and Central Sterilization Units (CSU) when those departments have staffing needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.

The Mother-Infant Biobehavioral Laboratory is part of the Stress and Health Research Program within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The primary purpose of this clinical research program is to explore the biological underpinnings of human social interactions and to understand how they are altered by biological and behavioral factors such as prenatal substance exposure or addiction, depression, pregnancy, lactation and environmental factors. A second purpose is to understand the influence these factors exert on long term physical and psychological health and disease susceptibility.
Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Study Coordinator in a study of mother-infant dyads with and without prenatal substance exposure to opioids, with or without cocaine, cannabis, alcohol, or tobacco. This person will 1) oversee all aspects of volunteer recruitment of women during pregnancy and retention over 14-month involvement; 2) oversee all aspects of data collection in mothers and infants including conducting psychophysiological lab protocols, surveys, interviews, measurement of maternal and infant substance exposure and/or hormones in saliva, hair, urine and expired air, infant developmental assessments, and acquisition, editing of heart rate variability in mothers and infants; 3) work with other research staff for infant MRI testing, 4) help develop and prepare data collection forms, recruitment brochures and flyers, 5) train and supervise student research assistants, 6) assist with analysis of acquired research data.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and ability to drive a state-owned car for subject transportation.
