Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing patient care, providing quality assurance, maintaining infection control, administering regulatory compliance and preserving fiscal stability. The Office of Clinical Operations is an integral part of the School and their primary mission is to provide the highest quality education and training to students and to provide the highest quality dental treatment available for patients.
Position Summary
The Dispensary Technician is responsible for utilizing good customer service techniques while providing materials to students, staff, and faculty at the Student Clinic Dispensaries within the Adams School of Dentistry. They are responsible for utilizing inventory tracking software and barcode systems to manage all stages of the inventory process for all materials within the dispensaries. The dispensary technicians will be responsible for managing inventory, utilizing reporting, and communicating with members of their team any inventory concerns they may have. It is vital that the dispensary technicians are flexible and willing to work as a team to create solutions for every opportunity that is encountered at the Student Clinic Dispensaries. The Dispensary Technician will provide occasional cross coverage in the Contract Vendor Lab (CVL), Implant Center, Center for Digital Innovation, pre-clinical labs, and Central Sterilization Units (CSU) when those departments have staffing needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with people of all levels and backgrounds.

The Mother-Infant Biobehavioral Laboratory is part of the Stress and Health Research Program within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The primary purpose of this clinical research program is to explore the biological underpinnings of human social interactions and to understand how they are altered by biological and behavioral factors such as prenatal substance exposure or addiction, depression, pregnancy, lactation and environmental factors. A second purpose is to understand the influence these factors exert on long term physical and psychological health and disease susceptibility.
Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Study Coordinator in a study of mother-infant dyads with and without prenatal substance exposure to opioids, with or without cocaine, cannabis, alcohol, or tobacco. This person will 1) oversee all aspects of volunteer recruitment of women during pregnancy and retention over 14-month involvement; 2) oversee all aspects of data collection in mothers and infants including conducting psychophysiological lab protocols, surveys, interviews, measurement of maternal and infant substance exposure and/or hormones in saliva, hair, urine and expired air, infant developmental assessments, and acquisition, editing of heart rate variability in mothers and infants; 3) work with other research staff for infant MRI testing, 4) help develop and prepare data collection forms, recruitment brochures and flyers, 5) train and supervise student research assistants, 6) assist with analysis of acquired research data.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and ability to drive a state-owned car for subject transportation.
